jmjtina Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 And we could all call in for questions................ "jmjtina, you are on the air" "I just have one question for dUSt.....could I request "Chillin on a Sunday"? hahaha. yeah. Or maybe the first Catholic reality show......i dunno
franciscanheart Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 How about giving the reasons behind the creation of phatmass? How about you delve into his earlier life and how he came to know and love and support orthodoxy? He's a husband, father, brother, son, DJ and webmaster. Most of all, he's a devout Catholic. He tells really horrible jokes ... no, I'm kidding. He's got a great sense of humor but not when it comes to orthodoxy and respect for the Mass. He's such a complex character. Certainly he would make an excellent guest.
Era Might Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Plus you could bring Fr. Pontifex with you. He could give you some Priestly credibility. I doubt EWTN has ever had a rapping Priest on the network.
Funky_R Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006
Plus you could bring Fr. Pontifex with you. But yeah, I definitely think that dUSt has serious potential to get on EWTN...it's just getting stuff to talk about for the show. You should talk about how the site has gathered Catholics from all over who are seriously orthodox, in a world where there seems to be so many "Cafeteria Catholics".
franciscanheart Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 how about the studio that he has built in his home to help Catholic rappers that he found and that he has offered to help? i mean, he picked up point5covenant, they didn't pick up him. that's cool. he's a really good role model for all of us that know him. he may not give talks at retreats but i know i never fail to learn from him when i see him. there is always something he says that grabs my attention and really makes me think. i am challenged and pushed to be holy or more holy when i am with him. he's just an all around great guy. ... but don't tell him i said so. just let him keep thinking i don't like him. :
Era Might Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Maybe they could send their cameras and take a tour of the Phatmass studio and get some footage of the PM rappers recording and making beats and what not.
ardillacid Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006
Does he give talks? MIKolbe Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 dUSt- if you can go on, you should. It could bring people to our Catholic Faith.... There is a whole world out there using whatever 'power' they have to exploit others and otherwise propogate evils for their own well being. Use yours to bring people closer to the Eucharistic Lord. (i am not implying you don;t already do that, quite the opposite) But this just seems like a way to reach more, to bring more home. To me, you seem to have the faith that can move mountians. Move them. Prayerfully, MIKolbe
littleflower+JMJ Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 i think theres a need to really get catholics moving in the visual and audio world for the Church. websites, graphic design, music, apologetics, culture, clothing, prayer. Whats out there and how to get it out there. New, updated and creative ideas. Sometimes you just ask, "Whats out there?" and come up empty-handed. And I think pm really answered that call with all the great stuff on here...hands down. Something only a few have been able to do. Gosh, everything that phatmass is we need a more of! And dUSt is the brain behind it...he could totally school some Catholics in taking action as well!! And encourage others to put their skills to use. Not to mention we are a pretty diverse group of Catholics here, which I think is the idea. If your just hitting a certain type or group of Catholics, your missing out. If your hitting so many different kinds of Catholics, like here, your doing something right! PM exhibits all of that. The culture and feel for the faith, (music, prayer, etc. wise) in hand with the orthodox-ness. Because when it comes down to it, phatmass is a great fresh air to the faith. Peeps could really learn alot from the dUSt man. simplly put phatmass is a catholic masterpiece!
franciscanheart Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 it wouldn't hurt to mention the Catholic Defense Directory (yes, compiled by phatcatholic but still part of phatmass which is dUSt's).
littleflower+JMJ Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006
it wouldn't hurt to mention the Catholic Defense Directory (yes, compiled by phatcatholic but still part of phatmass which is dUSt's).
yup, apologetics has always been a big part of pm since the very beginning. Phatmass and phatcatholic were meant for each other since the very first day nick signed up here! Gosh, I still remember that too! And it has never been less true So awesome, so much growth! It really stands out from the rest. Accessible and so easy to use to learn and get the faith in our hands CDD= total sweetness. another huge major component pm has conquered online see? so much to talk about-- the dUSt man should definitely be booked for this!
KnightofChrist Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 (edited)
Does he give talks? No. Does he have a compelling conversion story? No.
Why not make it about your faith in Jesus Christ and His Church. About the tours you go on, the music produce (or whatever you do with it), and lastly invite others to come join Phatmass, and how all that is for Christ. If you did go on LoTR, you could be able to explain your faith in Christ, to someone that has never known Christ, but you and only you explain your faith in such a way that they understand, and think of Jesus like they have never before and come to know Christ. Because you talk like them or think like them, or even the way you dress, someone channel suffing could be flipping the channels see you, decide to watch and listen and be converted, maybe not by you, but because they saw you and stayed and watched EWTN. Your appearce on LoTR, could convert 20 ppl, or just one, and then again maybe none at all. Thing is you'll never know unless you try, and if it would only convert one, thats one soul that would be saved from the fires of hell, just because lil ol'dUST made a 55 min guest spot on one show of LoTR, and showed someone their Lord Jesus Christ. KnightofChrist Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 What me typo again? Or is dUSt not a producer?
franciscanheart Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 when i read that, i thought of lettuce. music production, maybe?
dUSt Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I don't live up to your compliments. If EWTN wanted someone from phatmass, I should be way down on the list, seriously. I could name 100 phatmassers that would do a way better job representing than me.
PadrePioOfPietrelcino Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 (edited) dUSt first off, God does not call the qualified he qualifies whom he calls. You were called to create PM, and if LotR calls you should go. As for you saying that you do not hae a powerful conversion story, you are wrong. EVERYONE's story is powerful. It is the story about how God has acted in your life. The simple fact that you started your reversion to be able to explain your faith when atacked is very important. How many parents are out there with their children not practicing the faith can your story bring hope to. Don't sell ourself short, I only know you vaguely through the boards and I know you are an awesome example that many can learn from. um I'm sitting down now Edited October 19, 2006 by hugheyforlife
So, if EWTN called you would not go? You would say thanks but no thanks, not for me. You would not show others what you know of Christ, even if you and only you could make them understand Christ? No offivice dUSt but perhaps you are being to humble, phatmass has become something more that just a website it is virtal holy ground to us phatmassers, and you are our leader, the spiritial father of phatmass, not the other 100 phatmassers, you dUSt, and you alone. Your "sheep" are asking you to stand and simpley guide others to Christ and His Church. If the call came would you take it?
