toledo_jesus Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I read online that some people are forecasting the second half of winter to be quite severe. This is based on other years in which we had a weak El Nino (as we do now) and a mild first half of winter. I think they cited 1977-78 as a year of mild first half, multiple blizzards and extreme cold second half. Keep hope alive and don't throw out your winter coat!
CrossCuT Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Bring on the snow! Im ready!

We're supposed to get some "snow showers" tomorrow, but it won't amount to anything, and its going to be back up to 40s on Thursday. The last good snow we had in Pittsburgh was Dec. 2005, and that was right before finals week so it wasn't much fun. *sigh*
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 It is snowing! And it has been snowing... the ground is all white, but there isn't much accumulation yet...
cmotherofpirl Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 THis morning it was 60 and rain, tomorrow morning it will be 23 and snow. BAH!
Tindomiel Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 We got about 5 inches, all very fluffy, no ice or anything. Yesterday, my whole family went out sledding down our road (a very steep camp road). Lots of fun. :
SRMiller Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 The last 2 times I've had snow I haven't been able to enjoy it. One I'd just had knee surgery and had a brace from my ankle to my thigh (tried to sled anyway, didn't work so well). The other time I had to drive 5 hours in a snowstorm for what should've been a 2 hour drive. Can't play in the snow when you're driving.
Romans1513 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 We got the cool snowfall this morning, we just missed out on the "inches" part. A light dusting at most. But now the sun is out for the first time in daaaaaaaaaaays so thats pretty nice.
