Thats not a problem with me...as long as it is seperated from the sanctuary. I kind of like having the other things there. :D Just keep the santuary old school with smells and bells and icons.

Yeah but the multi=purpose room churches do not really have a sanctuary... or smells or bells... its all WHITE and weird things like fountains.... so much ugliness. If I want Zen I can go to the Japanese garden....

The reason I come to Church is because I want Catholic. oy vez mear.

I guess no indult today :(

However, here is some more promising news...

According to Fr. Zulhsdorf, the Holy Father had something interesting to say at a meeting today with the priests of the Diocese of Rome.

His source says in part:
Au cours de la rencontre en ce 1er jeudi de Careme, le Pape a lui-meme annoncé la parution désormais imminente de l’Exhortaion Apostolique, suite au Synode sur l’Eucharistie. Cette Exhortation sera surtout une "Méditation en plusieurs points" disait Benoit XVI.
For the non-French savy:

In the course of the meeting on the first Thursday of Lent, the Pope himself announced the imminent publication of the Apostolic Exhortation after the Synod on the Eucharist. The Exhortation will be a "meditation on many points," said Benedict XVI.

Maybe the indult will follow swiftly on the Exhortation's heels? :idontknow:

That's what everyone's saying, at least..
Apostolic exhortation on Eucharist is "imminent"

Feb. 22, 2007 (CWNews.com) - Pope Benedict XVI (bio - news) has announced that he will soon release the apostolic exhortation summarizing the work of the Synod on the Eucharist, which concluded its deliberations 16 months ago.

The appearance of the apostolic exhortation is “imminent,” the Holy Father told priests of the Rome diocese, during a traditional early-Lenten meeting in the Hall of Benedictions at the Vatican on Thursday morning.

In June 2006, the bishops who make up the ordinary council of the Synod completed a final text on the previous year's Synod on the Eucharist, to be submitted to the Pope as the basis for his apostolic exhortation.

The Synod of Bishops met in October 2005 to discuss the theme, “The Eucharist: Living Bread for Peace in the World,” with 256 bishops from 118 countries participating in the discussions. In a break from the usual practice, the Synod fathers made public an “unofficial” list of the 50 propositions approved at the conclusion of their deliberations. Ordinarily the propositions remain confidential to be used by the Pope in preparing an apostolic exhortation on the topic of the Synod's deliberations. But Pope Benedict approved the public release of the conclusions.

During his February 22 meeting with priests of Rome, the Pope said that his apostolic exhortation would offer a series of meditations on some of the key points made during the Synod.

Pope Benedict did not mention the motu proprio that he is also expected to release in the near future, allowing broader use of the pre-conciliar Latin liturgy. Several Vatican journalists have suggested that the motu proprio is likely to appear in conjunction with the apostolic exhortation on the Eucharist, although the Holy See has not confirmed that speculation.
So that means about how soon?

Thankfully, I don't need to holf my breath until I pass out- I have an indult Mass nearby. Its just getting to it that is the issue- between not having a ride, having weekend retreats, and needing to be at the NO Mass as an RCIA sponsor... I'm not going to make it there much more this semester I think.

An indult would be amazing though.

Hey wouldn't it be cool if it was released while I'm in Rome? (although it doesn't sound like it will be quite that soon. I leave in 7 days! :woot: )

I go to St. Boniface too... very easy feat when I'm at home but I'm currently at St. Vincent College about an hour away... but I still make it every week  I am sooo going home this weekend so I can justify going to both the FIRST weekly saturday mass in thanksgiving to St. Therese for helping us to get permission for weekly saturday masses and go to mass on sunday.

But I'm not holding my breath for the sake of my gas bill, I'm holding my breath for the sake of all priests and faithful everywhere!

I suppose we can just expect it to be "imminent" lol. I'm sure another rumor will pop up soon (if it hasn't already)

Cool! So I've probably seen you in church!
I won't be at St. Boniface again until mid-/end of March though. Were there a lot of people at Mass this morning? (I'd assume there were...)

Ditto. For one thing, I'd love to see people in general have a better understanding of it. I heard my mom over Christmas break telling my great-aunt and uncle about me going to Latin Mass sometimes, and they had thought that it was still not allowed to be said anywhere!

Also, when the indult is issued, we want to get one of our priests on campus to learn the TLM :) That would be really awesome...
