It looks like if the penitents are not in danger of death, general absolution is invalid.

well if there we'rent enough confessionals then the priests would probably spread themselves out and try to go off to as quiet an area as possible

yeah that was pretty much what happened ... but there were so many people and priests that there weren't really quiet places.

Be happy - that's a great problem to have! All of our parishes should be so blessed! Now how do we get them there every week?
