SJP Posted March 11, 2007 Share Posted March 11, 2007 I think many will see this as giving in to the demands of the SSPX. However, I don't think we should be at all concerned with such a notion. I think re-instituting the free use of the Tridentine Mass will be positive on all fronts. The free use of the Tridentine Mass will strengthen the Church and also under-cut the SSPX. Why go to the SSPX when you can have the Tridentine Mass in the True Church? I don't think this will put an end to the schism either. SSPX has problems with Rome that go beyond the Mass. As Catholics, we should re-claim what is rightfuly ours. We should not associate the Traditional Mass with SSPX. It is a treasure of the Church, why not celebrate it freely?
