catholicinsd
I'm doing my family tree for school. However, most of the sites I'm finding for my research require payment. Anyone know of free sites I could use for this?

Azriel
I believe if you go to the social security website you can search its death records.
St. Catherine
The Mormon site may use the names you provide to do temple work and do baptisms for the dead though. It seems like I have heard this before.

St. Catherine
I am just wary of supporting/using Mormon sites. I live in Utah, I was a Mormon, I know what they do. I don't know how they get the names, surely they have so many doing geneology they have tons of info. on most families. cmotherofpirl
They already have family trees there posted by other people, all you do is look at the stuff. You aren't required to post anything to do research.

But apparently, he was born in Pennsilvania.
Sojourner
I had a friend in college whose family actually had a tree drawn out for several generations. It looked really cool ... took up the whole wall in one of their hallways.
