Cookie Dough

OK, so I made cookies today and my housemate and I had a discussion we've had a couple of times before. She loves to eat dough of any kind, but I don't do it often. Raw cookie dough is OK but I am ambivalent about it. I think it's because my mom had a salmonella phobia when we were kids and we could never eat the dough raw because of the raw eggs in it. My housemate has no such compunctions. So where do you stand!

I love cookie Dough of any kind. Actually, the quickest way to my heart is to make me some cookie dough!!!!

My mother is a nurse and she always used to try to frighten us away from the dough bowl by telling us about the man she once took care of who had salmonella poisoning and who had a large hole in his stomach or something similar... Didn't work, of course. The cookie dough was calling too loudly

This is so hilarious because my sister just ate half of a cookie dough bucket by herself this week. (it was a small one) She got in trouble with my mom for doing it though since my mom thinks you need surgery after eating cookie dough raw. None us kids use to do that. lol


I think cookie dough is really yummy baked not raw!

I would eat it to clean up... batters, bowl etc. But I wouldn't make a batch to eat raw....

Although I don't lick the bowl, just the beaters ... I really prefer the cooked version

Cookie Dough is okey, but nothing beats it warm and mushy and chewy right out of the oven cookie.

I *gag* can't eat *gag* raw chocolate chip cookie dough *gag*!
Spritz cookie dough or cut out cookie dough, and I am SO there, but most of the other kinds I'm iffy on. But if it's chocolate chip cookie dough *gag* I WILL get sick. Here's a helpful hint: Don't eat cookiedough ice cream until you're sick!

My husband is a dough eater,and comes from a long line of dough eaters. I myself am a no dough eater,but I do come from a long line of dough eaters. DO you thinks its from my RH blood type??? My genes got seriously messed with eh???? Or maybe its the thought of getting sick from it! Maybe cookie dough ice cream is better!??? JC

It all depends on whether or not the cookies are homemade, imo. I wouldn't eat pre-fab cookie dough, but that barely comes into consideration for moi. Because....... what would I have pre-fab around for anyway?

One exception: the walnuts in cooked chocolate cookies are better than they are in the dough.


And who else besides me thinks that chocolate chip cookies without walnuts are like sushi without rice, or books without punctuation marks, or [i]any other generally recognizable object [/i]which is missing [i]something that it is generally assumed to have[/i]?

Walnuts should not be allowed in chocolate chip cookies.
