To tell you the truth, I thought they looked weird for chickens, but the caption on the photo said chickens! I thought it was just a weird kind of chicken -- maybe a turkin or a chickey! :P Maybe the photographer didn't know what they were photographing?

They have very exotic animals to my mind ... look at their cattle and llamas and alpacas sheep - all long hair! :)

Good! by the way, I can tell you that breed of chicken and it is called a Buff Orpington. It is a young chicken and it looks like a young female. As goes for the other bird in that collage, it is a peacock! haha

I did find some much better photos of their chickens (two different colours) and was going to ask you what they were, but the photos were copyright so I couldn't copy them and upload them to photobucket. They do have a lot of animals at this place!

You gotta ask Lil Mon - I have no idea about chickens!

Why are chickens being posted on the religious habit thread?

they must be very holy chickens...

Boy, she was bundled up there. We wouldn't want to show any chin, you know :)
I'm completely teasing, just in case you couldn't tell. There's just something wonderful about her gaze and the crucifix beside her.

Poor Clare Collettines wore the kerchief for many centuries. It was in the early 1900s that they abandoned it, for the obvious reasons.

No, but the nuns who raise them are! :P

I was posting random photos of nuns with animals and Lil Mon wanted to know why there were no chickens - what? didn't you read this thread or something? :P

It seems appropriate to post this here...

today I was driving to the Motherhouse and I was on the highway. I saw a little girl looking at me and she was smiling... it was super cute... THEN all of the sudden I look into the lane next to mine and I see a woman in the passenger seat with a camera looking at me. I don't know if she was taking video or pics but after they were done the man driving gave me a thumbs up and the kids were super cute smiling at me in the back of the car...

you never know when you're going to get a nun picture...

This is the picture. As you can see, the kerchief covers the chin. It was actually a second piece, not actually attached to the guimpe.
