I can only speak for the store where I work, but we fill out “availability forms” and then our schedules are created accordingly. With six kids, I could not work at a store that would tell me that family life is second. I have a job to support my family; I do not have a family that supports my job. Not one of the stores in my area ask us to be available 24/7. Does the store in your area demand “open availability”? If so, that is sad. :(

I had a kid staying with me awhile back after he was fired from Walmart. He was married and had a son. His wife worked nights at Kmart and he worked daylight at Walmart. When they remodelled the store he was asked to work nights for 3 weeks to help out , and so everybody pitched in to help with the baby. At the end of the three weeks he was told he had to stay night turn or he was fired. His wife couldn't change her job, so he was fired.

His wife couldn't change her job, so he was fired. thats awful but not all wal-marts are like that........ if you have mr. scrooge running that wal-mart then, their gonna run like that :shame: doesn't mean all of them are like that.... our wal-marts over here are da bomb...they work around your schedule, give out scholarships and give back to the community alot....... i guess it all depends whos running each of the stores cuz we know there's alot of them :unsure:

And so many Christians either don't know about it or don't care enough to boycott these stores. (I'm not talking about people who don't have a choice, of course). Basically, we're gonna have to have really big gardens so we don't have to buy food, shop at Goodwill a lot and learn to sew, and to make our own soap.
