yep, I do that all the time. It just has to do with your lens, if it's automatic, then I think that' sjust when you take the picture before it adjusts to the light.

Looks over exposed. Maybe you had it in "night picture" mode?

The spikes are guarding the inside of the "flower".

Inside that thing is probably a seed and the spikes are suppose to carry it where every. The seed is the "precious" part of the flower. It just seems like the spikes are guarding it.
