Resurrexi Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 If by this question you mean if our Lord was living on earth today rather than when He did, this is an impossible question. Had our Lord not become incarnate 2000 years ago the history of the world as we know it would be radically different both religiously and secularly. This question seems to imply that He would be incarnate now rather than 2000 years ago, but had he not become incarnate 2000 years ago there probably would be no iPod today. Now, if by this question you are asking if there had existed an iPod 2000 years ago in the Roman province of Palestine, what would our Lord have listened to, I would probably say He would have listened to chanted versions of the Psalms. If by the question you meant if our Lord had become incarnate again today after having already become incarnate 2000 years ago (which would be dogmatically impossible unless this were His second coming, in which case, He would judge the living and the dead and the world would end) I would say if He owned an iPod, he would not have any secular music at all on it because most if not all secular music is at least venially sinful, with much of it being mortally sinful. He would probably listen only to the chants of the different Catholic Rites singing Him, His Father and His Spirit praises.

littleflower+JMJ Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 i dont think Jesus would have gone with the popular mainstream brand such as the ipod but listen to all his songs on an underdog brand like a sandisk mp3 player Its cheaper and he was against the riches of this world

Plus one could do way more on my phone than I ever could with an ipod (or iphone for that matter).

But I'm sure all this is known by everybody and the OP had no malicious intent in the subject matter. It's a purely hypothetical musing as far as I can tell. Now if this had been posted in the Debate Table one might consider it to be an opener for debate about certain kinds of music. But that doesn't seem to be the case either. Let's all just chill. And have some cheetos... and pop rocks...

soccer girl =D Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) I know Jesus didnt have an iPod but I was just curious as to what the phamily would reply and say they think Jesus might have on an ipod IF he had one. Resurrexi Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Right I know you knew that but what I'm saying is to even ask the question one would have to assume hypothetically some historically impossible situation which would make today's music and culture non-existent in the hypothetical situation.
jeffpugh Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Lawl. I find it funny that you think like this, Tyler, for such a young kid. Oh well. Keep it cool. I know Jesus wouldn't need an ipod. He can hear us now when we sing praises.
I'm Mr. Snikkers Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 He'd probably have The Touch on his I-pod
melporcristo Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 JMJ Matt Maher's "Overflow" straight up.
