Okay finally finished chapter one. 12,004 words.
Jimmie Christmas! That's one heck of a hefty chapter. All of my chapters are either a short 1500-2000 words, or about 3000 tops.

Of course a lot of the fantasy type books that my wife has read (and enjoyed) have bigger chapters.
Where can we read some of these masterpieces? Or is this on a "PM me" basis?
"masterpieces"

:scratchhead:

It is possible you do not fully understand the nature of NaNoWriMo. :D

(People often post excerpts on the NaNo site, though since they've disabled author search that isn't going to help you much. We could post links to our profiles, I suppose...)

I agree with that. I saw the word "masterpieces" and my reaction was
Maybe we could celebrate the finish of NaNoWriMo '08 by posting a snippet of our 50,000 word effort on this thread?

Otherwise I like the idea of posting a link to our individual author's page. Although, I don't have any part of my writing there yet.

So in NaNoWriMo, you can just post nonsense! Why didn't you say that before!

But then, you're just being modest about your ingenious works. I'm going to check out L D's later, though.

Holy Cow!! Some of my chapters were edited down to barely a page after the gutting took it from 100,000 words to 70,000 words. Everyone was afraid of lawsuits or reprisals, so I had to take out or change everyone's names. That got weird because I had to keep a cheat sheet of what aliases I gave everyone to keep it consistent.
