Drink water until the entirety of your body is swollen and tender. Then drink more to ensure frequent trips to the toilet. Step 2. Hit yourself in the small of the back with a sledgehammer. This will serve a dual purpose: first, it will make you experience the sensation of low back pain related to cramps, and second, it will make you hella irritable. Step 3. Beginning just above the navel, cut yourself open with a rusty, dull blade. This will maximize discomfort. Take all intestines out, knot them in a giant wad, and then drape them up over your head. Now you have the weird hot flashes, probable headache, and terrible abdominal pain. Step 4. Maximize blood loss by leaving the wound open. Congratulations. Now do it again next month, for the next 30-40 years of your life. Only disruption to the cycle is to take 9 months off in order to swell to the size of an elephant and then pass something the size of a watermelon through an opening the size of a walnut.
Oh, and don't forget that at the end of that 9 month "break", during which you are sick for months at a time and have wonderful back pain and RLP, that you then bleed for up to 6 weeks and have those wonderful cramps as your uterus shrinks back to it's normal size. Fidei Defensor Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) I, for one, feel really bad for women. I get cramps from my IBS and I can only imagine how bad things are for women if their cramps feel anything like mine. Edited August 30, 2009 by fidei defensor

Although, I always take drugs for menstrual cramping, so if I go sans drugs for childbirth it could really be bad. I'll have to tell you how labor measures up.

Marie-Therese Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Levsin? That's interesting. It's great for smooth muscle spasm. I typically have given it to patients experiencing bladder spasm. Glad to know you are having some relief!

It's nice to have at least something under control. My stomach, however, is another issue... it's a never ending cycle of health problems! ugh.
CrossCuT Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I love having sudden sharp pains that cause me to flintch randomly! Or when its hard to move because my abdomen hurts so bad! Or when I feel like throwing up! Or when I get so bloated I feel like I gained 15lbs !! Or when I get so irritated and annoyed with nothing I snap on my brother when he only asks how my day went!! Make it go away!
InHisLove726 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 LOL, reminds me of when I wanted to kick in the TV during the Always Pads commercial. "Have a happy period." Puh-lease!
Marie-Therese Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 My fiance always scoots way away from me when those commercials come on, because I inevitably fly into a blinding rage. That ad campaign could only have come from a man, because no self-respecting woman would've put something that completely stupid on television. No disrespect to men intended.
I often took drugs for them, too, but still did fine without drugs for the majority of labour. I gave in to getting the injection without realising I was at the transition, but only needed the drugs for the sciatic pain.
