[/quote] There are two theories of astrology. One is that signs in the heavens reflect what is happening on earth, and one that the positions of heavenly bodies determine people's fate. The first is what the Magi -- Zoroastrian astrologers -- believed. That belief persisted almost through the Renaissance. Newton and many early astronomers believed it. I don't get all crazy wacko with them, but, I think it is cool, because sometimes they really do match up to your personality. However, I do know it's a 'bunch of hocus pocus' because if you read all of them, they are so vague they can match anyone. Again, seances held to see if something happens is a lot different than just trying to strike up a conversation with someone. If the girl isn't reading her horoscope and then seeing if it actually happens, I hardly think it's appropriate to compare her question to holding a seance. Apples and oranges people.
