Okay, thanks for the heads up, now I hear that there are actually two groups - SA and SAA. Is there a just Catholic one anyone knows about? Since putting a Lighthouse CD on the pornography plague in our parish gathering area a couple of men have come to Father that they need assistance. I've never heard of any of these groups.
The only one I've heard of is Catholic Support Group for Sexual Addictions. A lot of the stuff on the Courage site on chastity could help too.

my bad, i didn't read the whole thing...

it's always been a real turn off to me to see that any person, male or female, use their God given beauty and cheapen it by exposing themselves or using their bodies in ways to seduce or wake up the most base desires in others to sell a product...or sell themselves...

went to a Spurs game the other night, and was completely embarrassed by the Silver Dancers! Those women need to put clothes on! Basketball is a family event, and I hate it that the Spurs even have such a dance team.....

yes, people, keep your clothes on! (all of your clothes, not just little stringy pieces.....)

Not a problem, no one wants to see me with my clothes off, except my husband, and he is certifiable after all.
As a guy, something you could do is to just walk up to random girls and thank them for being modest - you have no idea how big an impact that will make. :) That's what happened in my case - best friend told me how big a deal it was to him that he was able to see me as a person and not an object.
be careful not to be insulting! eg "man am i glad YOU aren't wearing a revealing dress!"

 :(

well, the media doesn't help either! it teaches us that sex outside of marriage is ok, and that girls need to dress like prostitutes! many girls at my school show cleavage every day, which is funny cause i thought a woman's breasts were supposed to remain concealed until one's wedding night. you may think i'm going over-the-top, but it's a fact. sadly, i pay more attention to the ones with low-cut shirts and thongs/G-strings showing over the waist of their pants than i do the modestly dressed ones. HOWEVER, i respect the modest ones more. (not that girls don't deserve respect either way)

i know what you mean. I find it kinda sad that even though a lot of guys will pay more attention to that kind of thing, some of my very good guy friends (who are some of the more desirable dates at my school) have said that they have very little respect for those girls and don't like them very much. Is it bad that I find this very satisfying, being one of the goody-two-shooes types of girls who dresses with class and modesty?

No, you're not going over the top - I agree with you. But let me remind you that many girls will do what they have to in order to get attention. From my experience, many of the girls who dress/act like that don't have very good home lives and many of them are ignored, not given structure, or not given the attention they need from their fathers. Girls need attention from their fathers and, when they don't get that, try to get male attention from wherever possible. Most of the girls who dress like that at my school - and it's a small school, so it might be different elsewhere - come from broken homes and their dad's are hardly around at all. :ohno:

Personally, I'm very blessed to have my dad - has taught me what to expect from guys and how to behave with class. The way my parents have always been involved with my life has really shaped me into who I am today, and I am so grateful for that.

I'm telling you, SHOW them that respect. And occasionally compliment them on their outfits - it's hard not to follow the trends and do what it right. You have to put up with a lot of croutons from people when you do that.

you may have to put up with stuff from other people for doing what's right, but it's WORTH it!
