Nihil Obstat
Nothing Hinders. I like what my name implies. At face value, I like to think of it as something along the lines of "nothing hindering the path to God". That sort of drift. Then, obviously, there's the orthodoxy implied with the Nihil Obstat, Imprimi Protest, and Imprimatur stamps. Official Church approval. Also Latin names always sound cool. SaintOlaf
Upon deciding to go through RCIA and become a Catholic, my good friend, and sponsor handed me a daily Saints book. "Find out who your birthday saint is!" Ziggamafu exclaimed with glee in his voice. "What's my birthday saint?" I inquired. "Your birthday saint, my dear friend, is a Saint who's feast day falls upon the day of your birth" replied Ziggamafu. I opened the book and slowly began searching through the pages, passing by Saints that I recognized, and some that I didn't, until I arrived at my birthday, July 29. I looked at the page a little confused, and not sure what to think. I was expecting to see a name I recognized, but as the words rolled off of my tongue, was I in for a surprise. "Saint Olaf?" I blurted out. Ziggamafu's eyes suddenly beamed with epic amounts of glee and happiness as he exclaimed "SAINT OLAF!? The viking pirate king that brought Christianity to his entire country!!" Later that day, as we enjoyed a fine beverage ( ), I was told about this place on the internet called "phatmass" and encouraged to sign up and begin posting and interacting with the community. I chose the name SaintOlaf for obvious reasons of epic win and awesome. The rest, is history.

I don't know why I came up with it really, but roses are my favorite flower and I wanted to convey that I'm stronger than that; it's a beautiful rose, but it won't die or wither. It'll stay strong. CatherineM
I used to do a lot with sound systems at church and for a garage band, among other things. made for a few interesting moments... one time the lead singer of the band referred to me as Sparky after a really interesting moment, and it kinda stuck.
I had one of those interesting moment in college. It involved a stage in a honkytonk that was surrounded by chicken wire, and covered in beer, and I touched my microphone to the wire. Many sparks ensued. homeschoolmom
I made an account here so that I could ask a question in the Q/A phorum. When I made the account, I went with "homeschoolmom" because Homeschoolmom, HSmomof3, HSmama, and other variations are common on other boards I frequent. At the time, I just punched it in out of habit, and I didn't think I would be able to use that because I figured it would be taken already. I was already planning my next choice (which I'm sure I would have liked better, but I can't remember what it was...) and when it accepted it, I was a little disappointed. "Oh, well," I thought, "I'll probably only just post here once or twice anyway."

I remember seeing that for some reason! ;-) I, too, think these insights into our fellow phatmasser screennames if fascinating!
