tinytherese Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I really like the carmelite order. I don't know if I'd ever join it though. Here's clip one of a mini-series about St. Teresa of the Andes. This first episode of six issn't that great mostly but the rest of the series is significantly better. She entered Oct. 30, 2008 as a candidate, and became a postulant on Dec. 28th. She's really sweet. We are FB buddies. Since I've been into this order starting June of last year, I've met a lot of aspirants and candidates. I'm hoping to be a candidate myself VERY soon! I've already got a candidate friend from the same order and we are hoping to enter around the same time so we can be formation companions!! It will be so nice to have someone to go to formation studies with and grow with as a Carmelite DCJ Sister (God-willing).
Muus Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Yes, I know Eunice very well! She is very sweet, hihi. The last time I've seen here, she is looking very great and she is so happy with her new life. All the time she says: 'I've never laught so many in my life, since I life here!' I know all the postulants (Fieke, Petra and Eunice) over there. Three years ago, the first time I was been there, I feel there as a little child in a candystore!
puellapaschalis Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 When did you see Fieke and Petra last? Are they well?! I haven't seen either in a while - only got an email from Petra saying she was entering again
InHisLove726 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Here is a picture!
Muus Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 My english isn't very well, i'll do my best! Well, i've seen Petra at last in the begin of January 2009. She was there for few days. The day when she re-enter was 19 march, I think it was by St. Joseph day... I've seen Fieke and Eunice in the same time as Petra. The girls are very well!! I like them very much. If you go there, to Sittard, you hear English, Deutsch, Dutch and Croats.
elizabeth09 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Ever scine I seen the Carmelite in 2007, I never though that God will call me to them. So,, you can say that God might be caling to be a Carmelite sister. http://www.carmelitedcj.org/ Here the web site.
VeniteAdoremus Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 It must be almost time for Fieke to be clothed...
WisdomSeeker Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I'm presently discering my vocation and I have to admit to being very interested in the Carmelites. There is a carmelite monastery not far from me (only a bus ride away) and I am hoping to pay them a visit within the next month

And it's great in any case that you have a convent nearby. Good places for discernment, even to another congregation.

I have a friend who entered in the Quidenham monastery out in Norfolk, and she'll be made a novice this July! She entered in January, and they are taking a vote on whether or not she will be allowed to stay. I have another friend in England who is discerning with the same order and she is doing a 3 week live-in as we speak.

That's their normal day of transition from one stage of formation to another. I believe Eunice will also be clothed the same time, unless their postulancy is longer in the Netherlands than the US. The long time for postulancy in NL, dutch girls don't know all things about catholism. So, they will need that for the next station in formation. (A sister told me that)
VeniteAdoremus Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Oh, that's great! I will have to consider getting over there with ye olde digital camera.
