What makes you say this?[/quote] Because they are basically trying to trick people that are looking for the Phatmass Phorum by having a Google ad that says "PhatMass Forums" that points to their own forum. Yes, it's shady. It's also very funny.

What makes you say this[/quote] +J.M.J.+ uh, them using phatmass' good name and reputation to spur their own online forum doesn't strike you as dishonest? it does for me. that's what makes me say it is unChristian. otherwise their forum looks very nice, and i'm sure is a good way to meet other Catholic adults. though it doesn't strike me as a particularly youth oriented site.

littleflower+JMJ Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I don't think its fair when dUSt travels and uses his own money to pays $800 dollars to attend conferences to help promote phatmass and the crowd that we are suppose to be getting is going to someone else? It takes a lot of work, time and resources to do the hard work dUSt is doing. And like Lit Red mentioned, has been doing it for years! Using the name and promoting their link in place of it is wrong if when you come online to search and get misguided somewhere else.

The first thing I noticed when I saw the ad was the sloppy misspelling of "disucss." Such an obvious and sloppy typo in an advertisement simply does not look like anything I've seen from 4marks.com, which, whatever else you might say about them, has been quite professional and "slick" in their presentations, and not prone to that kind of sloppiness, which smacks of amateurism. Besides, it really makes no sense for a large, respected business like 4marks to pull a stunt like that. Anyone following the link looking for Phatmass, can see that it is not in fact Phatmass, and using the Phatmass name would merely give free advertising to Phatmass and do little to "help" 4marks. And, no offense to dUSt and Phatmass, but 4marks is a bigger, better-known enterprise than Phatmass, so such a move on the part of 4marks would make no sense. The whole thing smacks of some amateur mischief to me, rather than an actual "marketing" move by 4marks.com.
