Brother Adam
I am looking for a real sword for Religious Education this year (our theme is Sword of the Spirit). Does anyone have recommendations on where to buy one and how much to pay? I don't want a 'ninja' sword, more of a knights sword and something that comes with a wall mount. I'd like something of decently high quality. You know, like Kohl's or Sears instead of Walmart, but not exactly 'designer'. Also, if it was a replica of a sword used by a Catholic that would be even better.

dUSt
This would probably be a good place: http://www.michrenfest.com/ The Renaissance Festival here in Texas always has a lot of places to buy swords from different vendors and craftsmen--and the coolest thing is watching them actually make them. Maximilianus
The swords in the links you posted are historically incaccurate, they look like psuedo-historical Freemason jobs. Eww. If you want to go fantasy THIS is what you need If you don't approve just check out the medieval sword section. There are some decent quality battle ready swords, sans displays though. If you really want a nice blade http://www.albion-swords.com/ and Christian Fletcher are nice, of course the prices are higher. Brother Adam
Thank you. These are the types of recommendations I need. What is the difference between a $69 sword and a $179 sword?

For example a cheaper sword might have a synthetic wrapping on the handle, and an expensive one would be leather.
