Pretty sad that you can vote on God's laws. :sadder:

I think there will be alot of Churches leaving if they vote in favor of it.

I didn't think the orientation of pastors was "God's law," but rather, a discipline of a Church?

I'm genuinely curious. It was my understanding that the decision of the Church to not allow homosexual men to become priests was something of a discipline, not any kind of doctrine.

Besides, if you really want to quibble about it, they're not really a Church so it doesn't matter who they have as their pastors.

Anyone taking bets on which way this one will go? I'm expecting a yes, and then later a division like what is happening with the Anglicans.

Yepppers.....split 'em up!

Bring the faithful back home to Rome and let the faithless continue to prove the fallacies of Protestantism (lack of definitive teaching authority)

How do they vote? I mean... is it like they pass around ballots at the Sunday service? Do they send the ballot with the collection envelope for the month? Show of hands?

This is the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America -- the same organization in which late-term abortionist George Tiller found a warm welcome. He was serving as usher at an ELCA ecclesial community when he was shot. So we should not be surprised. If the members condone baby killing, why would they object to homosexual ministers?

The gates of hell are prevailing. Gee, maybe Martin made a mistake. My bet is they will pass it.

Okay, comparing ordaining homosexual ministers to "baby killing" is a little ridiculous. I don't understand what the big deal is, especially considering that it's a LUTHERAN church...it's not like it's your Catholic church.
