I am in full support of free speech and will protect that freedom to my dying day. I was just wondering what the procedures of Congress were. I know that sometimes the interruptions are "allowed" but I wasn't sure if this was a case. Sorry for any misunderstandings. You have figured it out. It is not because of his policies. That is the only reason people "hate on him."
dominicansoul Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Obama's black? I thought he was white, too...? I guess that doesn't count, since the color of his skin means more than the content of his character. And speaking of skin...his is pretty thin if he can't take criticism...
Secuutus Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 You can keep saying that im pulling the "race card" and defend and defend and defend your reasons why its not true, but thats the underlying cause why most Americans don't like him. Sure there are some people who view his policies and not his skin color, like you picchik. I'm just stating a fact that applies to many, if not most, americans. You said you would "protect freedom to our dieing day" protecting freedom also means "protecting and supporting our president and what he says", as my platoon seargeant puts it,he also says "that we don't have to like him or like what he says, but as Marines and fellow service members we do have to protect and support him, because whether we like it or not he represents America's freedom, and thats why what we fight for!" I know you plan on joining the service, and I just want to know, whether you can do that, even if you don't "care for Obama" as you adequately put it?

It was rude and something needed to be done to make sure it doesn't happen again. As a Marine, who is proud to serve his country and his president, I was outraged to hear a public leader and someone kids look up to as a mentor, act in such a childish manner. Plus if he is going to call a man a liar, he should atleast be able to back that up. Under the new senate bill, illegal immagrants will not be able to recieve any benefits. Yeah there are some loopholes, but there are loopholes in everything. People just hate on Obama because he is black and a democrat. There are at least 5 different versions of the health care bill circulating around congress and it did and might still cover illegal immigrants. And the race card croutons is more than tiresome. Most people I know detest Obama for what he does, not for the supposed color of his skin. Its just a convenient label to put on someone to detract from the very real issues of his lack of qualifications, talent, and ability.

Secuutus Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 "University of Connecticut professor Jack Dovidio, who has researched racism for more than 30 years, estimates up to 80 percent of white Americans have racist feelings they may not even recognize." What about the protesters who dipicted obama as hitler on signs, last time I checked Obama isn't commiting genocide on a certain group of people. Racism in America will never go away, whether its consciously or not. I have sat down in my college cafeteria or when I'm waiting to pick up my sister at her dance studio, and heard many remarks that were un-called for towards Obama, l dont want to say them because they are pretty bad. But these are the same people, especialy the people at my sister dance studio and the same college students who around minorities would never say, that go around and put on a smile in front of other minorities and pretend to be there friends. Fidei Defensor Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Why do you even bother starting new threads? You might as well just bump old ones. It's the same old stuff. No offense but preaching to the choir doesn't make you special, it just makes you think you're special because everyone agrees with you.
