Selah
I've never heard of New Age Hindus...that almost sounds insulting to the Hindu religion.

StColette
Very interesting. I went through and did a search using all the different addresses (like the blogger did) everything he says seems to ring true. If you go to the Atma Jyoti Ashram website the address is the one in Borrego Springs CA, but if you go to their contact us page it's the one in Cedar Crest NM. A Churches in Borrego Springs website gives Monastery Icons location as the same address for Atma Jyoti Ashram.
sacredheartandbloodofjesus
Please get the word out to as many bookstores and Churches you come into contact with that support this heretical orginization.

Apotheoun
Yes, Monastery Icons should be avoided, because non-Christians cannot write true icons.

Lounge Daddy
This link is clearer than the article posted above, I think. A Word About 'Monastery Icons'
I like the reply on that thread:
Dear Joe, I would strongly suggest first that you have them blessed. Even though they have been produced by a heretical group, the sanctification with Holy Water and the prayers of blessing should exorcise any demonic influences. Now, if you chose to give them to someone else or whatever, at least you will not have to worry about these influences following them. I strongly suggest that no matter what you simply do not throw away any icon, but rather if you inclined to dispose of them, do so in the proper manner with consultation of a priest.
Without a doubt, I do like to own Catholic things made by devout Catholic people. But just because the group making and selling Catholic goods isn't expressly Christian doesn't mean anything. Have the item blessed, and pray for the people who made it. Lounge Daddy
Although I have to say this news is interesting to me, because it sounds a little like something that is happening in the beginning of the novel I am writing. A small group of people peddling fake (and cursed) relics are being sold over the Internet, through eBay and other sources. The hero of the story, a P.I. working for the Vatican, moves in to shut them down. The hero then follows the money to see who is organizing this and why. Adventure ensues.
