That makes no sense, in light of what I said.

A true Christian has no need to tear down another's beliefs in order to bolster his or her own, just as a true atheist has no need to tear down another's beliefs in order to bolster his or her own. Posting things that tend to prove one's own point of view is not the same as "go[ing] out of their way to attack" another's point of view.

Isn't demonstrating that the shroud is not a miracle from God a way for the atheists promoting something "to prove one's own point of view"?

By posting something you feel proves your God is true you are implicitly attacking atheism.

Has anyone in this discussion actually seen the shroud in real life? Just curious.

This.

My theory is that "atheists" who go out of their way to attack Christianity have some inkling deep down inside that it's true. They're bothered because atheism doesn't quite fit, so they try to make themselves feel surer about it by attempting to discredit what they perceive as a threat.

Interesting.

I just mean he is literally bonkers, that's his name. I was stating the obvious in honor of the phatmasser known as StatingTheObvious. Peace be upon you, wherever you are...
