(which I can hopefullly pay off in a small amount of time. )
Don't let that always be the reason for why you're not getting engaged or married anytime soon. If Micah and I waited until we were both debt free we wouldn't have gotten married until 10 or so years of being out of college lol

Jesus_lol
good call. you want to be able to remember every detail of the other person at the proposal i would imagine, not just what font and emoticons they decided to respond with.

let_go_let_God
No, that wasn't a proposal. c2tc knows my criteria before he can ask me that.
ATTENTION, EVERYONE! I LOVE LET_GO_LET_GOD AND WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH HER! WITH YOU ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR US?
That post though is the occupational hazard of being of Scandinavian descent and dating a Latino. CatherineM
Just remember to put more time, effort and planning into the marriage than you do the wedding. My engagement ring cost $30 (and another 20 to have it re-sized to a 6). Our entire wedding cost $1000, including my dress, his suit, the cake, all the flower stuff, and our wedding rings. I never heard a single couple say that they wish they'd spent more money on the wedding. I had many clients seeking divorce who talked about how their marriage suffered from the debt they carried into it. Not student loans, but wedding expenses. missionseeker
Yeah... I know a girl who is getting married here... her wedding costs $40,000 O.o Apparently her dad invented something for NASA, so... But still... that's just crazy. I definitely don't plan to spend enormous amounts of money. I loathe debt. I see the effects of what my parents are dealing with and I just don't wanna do it. If I work while he finishes school, I ought to be able to pay my laons off. I already make payments on them. And I'm not afraid of work. I have a full time job and 11 clases and so far have a decent GPA, so I can work. I just hate debt.
It would be memorable, in any case. You'd be able to run a search whenever you wanted to find your proposal. Of course, with the way the PM search engine works it would get buried amidst threads about nuclear proposals, and schools suing parents, and parents suing mcdonalds and weird lame board threads about usurping power.... And you'd have lots of time to think about how to respond. And then it would get resurrected every 3 years when hot stuff and didacus went on a ing spree Edited October 14, 2009 by zunshynn
