Ephrem Augustine
I scored a hand painted Coptic Icon of the Ascension, written by a Coptic nun. Its too big for the icon stand i currently have in my personal alter, so it remains on the wall next to my door to welcome every passer by. I wish I had one of those. Out of curiosity, how did you obtain it? [/quote] JMJ I happen to be a grave robber...
Tridenteen
JMJ Hey Keenan, Brianna was up and about yesterday. She even ate a pop tart and drank some soda. For a kid that was in kidney failure last week, pretty good! She said to tell you thanks again!

HisChild
Just got my icons of Christ the Divine Bridegroom and The Ladder of Divine Ascent. The second is also a book by St John Climacus. If anyone wants a fabulous book to read during Lent, this is THE book.
KeenanParkerII
mmm Catholic loot. Might have to pick it up. I'm looking for some good Lenten reading.
HisChild
St John Climacus is an Eastern Christian. He's revered greatly in the Eastern Rite churches as well as the Orthodox. One of the Orthodox's major feast days in Great Lent is for him. Most Eastern monasteries read him all Lent. Fabulous. I start reading him tomorrow. Apparently he can't come too highly recommended. MarysLittleFlower
I have a home altar there's a crucifix, a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a little statue of Mary, my Rosary, Bible, and a candle in a candleholder from a monastery. KeenanParkerII
Sounds awesome. Post a pic if you can! I just got a statue of Mary myself and it's bee-ootiful.
Tridenteen
JMJ My brother just completley repainted a lovely prevatican2 statue of the BVM. It originally was sunset orange, red, and various shades of yellow (????) so he repainted it with his Warhammer paints. It's amazing how different it looks!
