That rap part was horrible... why keep saying "Haiti... Haiti" at the end? Why make it so specific? and Katrina? What the heck.
Wait.. He was saying Haiti at the end? God does work through evil, but it is never the evil we ourselves make as in trying to do something correct or good. Let God do with the world as He will, I think the thugs will get their justice eventually.

Why is "Kool and the Gang" part of Band-Aid? And did we all look so ghost-like with our stringy hair and sloppy, baggy sweatshirts...? gah....

Let's not pretend warlords are victims. Empower the good guys instead of emasculating them (as in the case of international waters issues) and kill the thugs. We're not talking about ordinary criminals.
There are many "causes" of thuggery. To say that thugs can be victims of social structures does not take away their moral agency. Killing thugs might make a country feel safer, but it doesn't actually make the country safer. How long as America been in a war on drugs? How long as America been imprisoning people? How has that worked out? Killing, like prison, only claims to be a solution. It is not actually a solution. It may serve some purpose, but it is not a solution.
Is that in reference to Kool and the Gang or the sweatshirts? Kool and the Gang = Not British, not Irish. As for the French recitation of Haiti at the end... that reminds me of the original when a fight broke out... Stevie Wonder wanted a message in Swahili as part of the background. Waylon Jennings said that "good ol boys don't sing in Swahili" and left. Someone pointed out to Stevie that Ethiopians don't speak Swahili anyway. They put the "One world, our children" lyrics in instead. Also, Prince was oringally supposed to sing Huey Lewis' lines, but he flaked out.
