EmilyAnn Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 When you're wondering if your family visits will be allowed to include the dog.
ChristinaTherese Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) This is kind of old, but when you read "Aloha Woman Sees Translators at Brid..." in a tab on your web browser and accidentally fill in mentally "Brides of Christ". (It finishes as "Bridge Builders".) When you're sad that there's a bathroom attached to the sacristy when you have a meeting in it because that means that you don't have a splendid excuse to stop by the Tabernacle on your way back to pray for a minute. When you leave the group anyway during a tour of the Cathedral to pray, because you promised Jesus you would. (A lot of what I say probably doesn't automatically mean that you are a future nun, but whatever.) EDIT: Another one: When, while you're enjoying time spent with friends, you feel a longing in your heart for a cloister. And then you wonder whether a community you want to discern with would like the play you're watching. (I think they might.... It was a musical comedy about nuns. I found the contrast amusing. It is, by the way, called "nunsense" and is findable on YouTube.) Edited November 9, 2012 by Christina Thérèse
emmaberry101 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 When you are heading off to your midnight adoration hour, and cannot wait until you are praying Matins with your sisters at midnight!
Rosa immaculata Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 When you are moved to tears when you enter a parlor and you see for the first time the enclosure (what happened to me today in a Carmel before seeing the Mother Superior)!!
Spem in alium Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 When one of the main reasons you're looking forward to going home is so that you can officially start checking out communities.
OnlySunshine Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 ...when your pastor asks the congregation after Mass to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life and you secretly smile but have to look down so no one sees.
emmaberry101 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) When a horrible tragedy occured in your hometown and the first things you thought were 'call my Sisters and ask for prayers (and post in Prayer Room.) When you cannot wait to visit the Monastery tomorrow and give the nuns some 'special' cookies for their solemn Advent Feasts as well as buy some more of Mother Francis' great poetry! http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e280/emmajaneberry/photo.jpg (Sorry my laptop is not working and I cant figure out how to embed on mobile.) OnlySunshine Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 ...when you start getting excited because your Sisters are preparing to move into the new convent and you put yourself on the volunteer list to help spruce up the place! ...when you start wondering if it is possible to live in the convent with the Sisters while finishing school.
father's heart Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 When, after you begin discerning, you realize you're WAY more excited to become a spiritual mother to guys than to consider them as potential husbands. When you try to get your relationships in order because you're thinking of how people will remember you after you enter the community When things finally feel right and you understand why you've never truly been able to give your heart to a man that isn't Jesus

Catholicterp7 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 When you just spent over five hours doing what you studied and worked your tail off for in college and what you love doing with the people you love hanging out with only to come home with the realization that the only thing that can possibly make you really happy is to give your life to pray for priests. (Sorry for the run on sentence. Grammar isn't my strong suite when I'm tired. ) JMJ+
InPersonaChriste Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 When honestly every thought brings you back to God,
emmaberry101 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 When the second you leave the Monastery, you start devising new explanations for your next visit.
TheresaThoma Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 One of the top considerations for places to move post graduation is how easy/cheap is it to travel to the Sisters from wherever you would be living.
Catholicterp7 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 When you say things like "I want to be cloistered because then I can open my heart to the whole world. If I were in a non-cloistered community I could only be hospitable to so many people" JMJ+
Mary+Immaculate<3 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012
You know you're a future nun when....you listen to love songs on the radio..(usually happens to me during the Delilah show!) and think of Jesus :-)
Yes! Or when you hear a breakup song and think about the devil and how Jesus "broke you up" and you're "over him" xD
