Lent is so late this year, I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever come. I'm pining for Lent. Lord, I must be crazy!

Anyway, I was wondering what all of you are planning on doing for your "Lenten resolutions."

This Lent, I am going to

1. Add Vespers to my Divine Office
2. Try to say at least one decade of the rosary a day
3. Give up ice cream ( a perenial favorite!)
4. re-learn the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

So what about all of you?

I think for Lent I will give up any and everything thing Dominican related, in fact I wont even wear white.

I'm giving up PhatMass and Facebook ... (probably at a min the whole week except sunday). The idea is to take that extra time and put it towards prayer. After that -- dunno.

For this Lent I'd like to try to fast with bread and water on Friday but my health isn't the best but I really want to try this traditional way, as a lot of people do it and it used to be the custom.
I'm also going to try to be more selfless.

Try and go to daily mass on a more regular basis
Spend less time in front of the tv and laptop

Oh my - everything thing?! That's, like, more than everything.... because it's everything thing. ;) If you're going to be giving up the Dominican Rosary (which I don't recommend ...), you could try praying the Seven Dolors of Mary Chaplet instead.

A priest recommended reading the book of Sirach each day during Lent. It's about 50 chapters long, and I definitely need some wisdom and common sense, so I think this is something I'll include, amongst other things - like TB said: prayer, fasting, almsgiving.

I am still thinking and praying as to what God is calling me to do this lent. Whatever it is, I know it will ultimately result in closeness with Him.

No Facebook for me. And since almost everybody's taking a break on PM, I will also rest from PM.:)

More prayers too!
