If my house were clean, I would post a picture. I am a hermit Sister of the Order of Adoration and Obedience to Cats with Chronic Diseases (Anglican--but unofficial and recognized by no one). I wear secular clothes, but each of my cats has his/her own habit worn 24/7 and the cats' "habits" are both beautiful. The charism of of the order--both for myself and the cats--is unconditional love and total devotion. No yelling, no cross words, and our horarium involves frequent naps.

God created the birds of the air and the (cloistered) cats of my house and I try to love them as much as God does. My cats have taught me SO much about loving, and trusting without question.

I'm not physically able to contribute much to the world right now, so one of the ways I contribute is to give a loving home and provide good care to two cats with chronic diseases, one of whom was about to be euthanized because the vet couldn't figure out what was wrong. MY vet diagnosed the cat's illness in 5 minutes, and God-willing, my little girl cat has been healthy ever since. My male cat is 15, and has hyperthyroidism. I hand feed him when he won't eat, give him pills twice a day, and try to appreciate every minute I have with him, because I don't know how much time we have left--it could be 2-4 years, it could be tomorrow.

My husband left me after 13 years--my 15-year old male cat rarely lets me out of his sight. Guess which one taught me more about REAL love.

The Mother Superior at the Visitation convent in Chile was so cute when she told me about their day. (translated)

First we wake at 6 am,
then have a shower.
After our prayers in the chapel we have mass.
Then lunch
and then we have a nap!

She was soooo adorable!

These Sisters are not in communion with the Church, unfortunately. They belong to CMRI. The Sisters of Our Lady, Mother of the Church and the Sisters of Our Mother of Divine Grace broke off and rejoined the Church. The CMRI, however, is still in schism. They are called sedevacantists.

I contacted these lovely Sisters earlier in my discernment. I believe these are the Carmelite nuns in San Antonio. Sr. Corinne is their VD and she was very sweet. We talked on the phone. I realized pretty quickly that I was not called there and ultimately believe I am not called to Carmel, but she helped me a lot. If I could enter any Carmel in the world, it would be either the one in Denmark, WI or Buffalo, NY as the prioresses were especially nice and I fell in love with both of the monasteries. :)

Benedictine nuns of the Annunciation Monastery.

Very old photo. I am under the impression that they no longer wear habits, or even a veil for that matter.

I wonder if with the updated habit they still wear the scapular at times, and if so, do they vary the colour like they do with the traditional habit? I was fascinated when I read about that, why couldn't God have called me to a more colourful order???:saint:

I'm happy with white. I could never be a pink sister, I just do not like pink or a Redemptorist because I look awful in red. lol I could go for an order that wears black as black is quite slimming. lol I like the SSVM habits, but I have a thing for long veils and traditional habits. Oh, anyone know where the pic of the flying SSVM came from? I can't did te thread and therefore can't find the website.
