If it isn't too much trouble, do you think you could draw an avatar for me? Maybe one of a Rosary or a Crucifix? (If you're reading this, sorry Max. [/quote] I use the superlative MyPaint, which is available for FREE here: [url="http://mypaint.intilinux.com/"]http://mypaint.intilinux.com/[/url] It is such a razzle dazzle program for doing quick drawings or complex paintings. For example, it's designed to stay out of your way while you draw- you can disable all the toolbox windows with one button on the keyboard. I usually just leave up the brush selection tool, since I swap alot during the coloring stage, but I could just use hotkeys instead. You have your choice of two easy pop-up color palettes to use for color selection. The canvas will automatically expand if you draw off the edge, and does so seamlessly. It's like having an infinite canvas. You can also do layering, as you saw in the video, so I can draw my pictures with the charcoal sim, and then paint in the outlines from [i]underneath[/i]. How razzle dazzle is that? There are way too many razzle dazzle features of MyPaint to list here, but suffice to say it's the cleanest, simplest, easiest to learn, and most polished painting program I have ever used. The only possible downside is that for very large paintings you'll want alot of RAM for it to perform decently, but I have 4 gigs and have never had it slow down yet. With the money you save by not buying Photoshop you can buy 8 gigs of RAM (enough to cache a 900dpi rendition of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel) and use MyPaint instead. But as I went along, trying to do a rageface, I just wound up with something that looked like a grumpy old German guy, so it turned into grumpy WWI tank commander. Oh well.
