Likin' these. But that name on the last one has negative conotations... haha gauze.... is it used? Anyway, they're expensive, but nice. And I'd wear them outside of Confirmation and mass. That's something I'm shooting for. Something that isn't just a one-time-wear. I don't like wasting money like that. :)

I could wear those as nightgowns, too.... why do they wear nightgowns and slippers to church? I guess comfort comes first. Expensive comfort at that...

Yeah, that's what I thought about some of them, too. They just seem a little too nightgown-ish for wearing in a Church. I have no idea why they wear slippers unless they want to look like they are sleeping over or something.

I just found the reason for the slippers. I had to research because it was bugging me, but here is what I found:
Men and women alike wear slippers in the temple instead of shoes, recalling God's command that Moses remove his shoes on holy ground (Exodus 3:5).

That is great, it is always nice to find people like me out there :) I am actually contemplating joining a Discalced Carmelite order. I think they are Teresian Carmelites. Yes, I am going to wear a veil, I am thinking white, but I am not sure what color. I veil in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament on a regular basis, so I will do that for Confirmation as well. It is so razzle dazzle that you are wearing a white dress too, are you going to wear a veil?
razzle dazzle - loveit! :proud: yeah i'm going to wear the veil that all of my cousins wore, it's white with a Cross embroidered on the back.

thats brilliant - good luck with your discernment- i'm very excited for you!

Haha the171, razzle dazzle we are having the same Confirmation year! Thanks for the links everybody, I am going to look through them right now. For those of you who asked, my saint is St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, and my sponsor is my CCD teacher from last year who is not your normal CCD teacher, she has been a HUGE blessing in my life and I know God put her in my life for a reason, to be my sponsor, I need her.

Thank you! That is great about your veil Congratulations on Confirmation and good luck with your discernment as well!

BTW, the171, you are too funny. I know, why do the mormons wear slippers???

You know, I REALLY like this: http://www.dressedinwhite.com/index.php/woman/dresses/beehive-dress.html a LOT :) If the one I had decided on (see my first post) doesn't work out I may go with this. Which do you like the most, the171? Those good old mormons make some pretty good dresses.

just a little info on these Mormon dresses. they are not worn for going to church on sunday nor anytime outside of their temple. they are changed into when people arrive at the temple and are worn during the "temple work", including baptism for the dead, etc.

personally, I'd feel uncomfortable wearing this type of clothing knowing what it is intended for. but that's just me. I live in a Mormon state and maybe I'm a little overly sensitive about their (very different) rituals.

blessings on your confirmation. I wish everyone took it as seriously as you are.

Ah, me thinks RED is the color for confirmation. White is more "bridal" don't cha think?! Why the choice of white? Is that traditional in your parish? In every parish I've either worked in or attended, red was always the color for the confirmands. I still have my 3 kids' confirmation robes they wore in 8th grade and they are varying shades of red. Just a thought

What I don't understand is the obsession with the super-short capped sleeve in the "modest" dresses that include LDS clothing. Nobody's arms look good in capped sleeves, unless you are super, super athletic and thin.

In other news, congrats on your Confirmation.

, a thought- you might have better luck looking online in the springtime, since White is not a fall color.

It shows the connection between the sacrament of baptism and confirmation.

Still looking. It'd feel, too, nightgown-y for mass. And they are very $$$. Hahaa, I'm always funnier after an all-nighter.

For my confirmation we had a sea of white dresses, everything had to be white (literally from our Mantilla's to our shoes) and the boys would wear a white ribbon tied around their right arm overtop of their suits.

It was funny though because then all the english mass kids came in and none of them were wearing white...

Gotta love this forum... So, at the171 said, yes, the white shows the connection between Baptism and Confirmation. I agree, I don't really want to get a Mormon temple dress, but if the one I really want is sold out, I am so picky that I would have to go with that. Yeah, a lot of the Mormon temple dresses look VERY nightgown-y....

How 'bout a white skirt with a pretty, lacy white blouse?
