I wanted neon but apparently black was "more appropriate" sigh

As razzle dazzle as glow in dark yellow or pink would be I can see their point.

I think there is an undie thread around somewhere, or at least one that talks about bras.

Do nuns wear bras? I know one of mine does, but the postulant last year *definitely* didn't.... the others I can't tell... and I haven't wanted to ask....

Yes, I think its up to the individuals. But maybe your order is different. If you search the forum there was a thread about people were taking with them and there was a lot of discussion about the best type of bras.

But, colour, style... is that specified? I remember Faith talking about her pink Betty Boop bras hanging out to dry at her first convent, and I was like :o but then I wondered if it really mattered, no one sees them and according to one way of thinking it's better than buying new plain ones just before you supposedly go and live in poverty... ?

plain, white for me. But then again, white shirts/habits. Even with an undershirt, bright colors might show through and that would be... bad.

I just had a vision of polka dots showing through, that could be distracting in choir.

These things are always the ones you want to ask about but I don't think there is any good way to bring them up in a conversation. Oh well.

Lisa about sewing your postulant outfit and aprons, do they give you a pattern or do you have to go buy one?

Yeah see my dilemma is not do much colours but um... ok so for the first year I'm in civvies, so I figure it's a good idea to keep wearing what I normally would under my clothes. But then after novicing - you know what the veil looks like, right? It comes down to the elbows all the way around, almost like a poncho. So with all that layering I don't know if brassieres are going to be *visibly necessary* if you catch my drift. Maybe it's just what's more comfortable for working? Sorry Lisa, we didn't mean to hijack your entire thread! :sos: but also if you do have an apron pattern could I [s]steal[/s] see it?

They sent an apron pattern and gave me pattern numbers to work from for the postulant outfit.
