Favorite Songs That Inspire

I was introduced to this beautiful song by my friend during the CRHP weekend and I fell in love with the words that bring the Gospel to life. I was listening to it tonight and had the idea that it would be even better paired with scenes from the movie, "Passion of the Christ." However, I wondered if such a video already existed on YouTube. I landed on this video and the person who created it did such a brilliant job -- better than I ever could. I suggest you have a tissue ready because you are going to need it!

I first heard this song at my CRHP weekend in September 2011. My pastor gave a talk on Reconciliation and this was his opening song. When I made the music CDs for the March 2012 presenting weekend, he used it again. It's by Annie Karto who is a Catholic singer and songwriter. This song reminds me so much of God's love and how, even though we fail, He is still there waiting for us. It makes me want to dedicate my life to Him that much more.

Normally, I don't associate secular songs with discernment, but there are a few songs that make me think of Jesus and how much I love Him. There is one song that has been running through my mind for the past few days and I thought I'd post it. It's called "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. I talks about being brave and taking the step forward. It makes me think of how my discernment has brought me to the point of entering my community (God-willing) and how I need to be brave and take the plunge -- even if I am scared.
