Favorite Songs That Inspire

This beautiful young woman, Amanda Vernon, came to my school this Sunday evening to give a talk/concert. One of her songs is called "With This Ring." She told us her father gave her a purity ring around the time of her Confirmation and about the impact that had on her life. Obviously the song is supposed to be about waiting for marriage, but I immediately thought of the vow of chastity.

Hey, if I can take a song about two people having relationship problems and spin it in a religious life way, certainly you can take a song about waiting for marriage and using it for the vow of chastity.

This is such a beautiful song!  It was on the CD that I got at the retreat last weekend.  I've never heard it before, but it's deeply meaningful, especially the verse that says:

 

"And I can hardly wait for the day I get to lay it all down."

I love Danielle Rose's music.  I had listened to the song "Hail, Holy Queen" on her CD, "Mysteries."  I just started listening to her CD, "Pursue Me."  I think the most beautiful song I've listened to should go here.

This might be a little strange but my song with Jesus is At the Beginning from the Anastasia cartoon. It really speaks to my discernment struggles and God's love that will get me through this crazy journey that is discernment.

Another one is called Bride of Jesus by April Verch. My parents went to see her in concert one time and she played this song there. They were both shocked because she doesn't bill herself as a Christian artist but clearly she is because she writes songs like this. :love:

@FuturePriest387 Nothing weird about "Running to Stand Still". Beautiful song. One of my favorites of all time.

U2 was my favorite band ever and I sort of put it to rest years ago and listen to it only sporadically, but right now the only music I can listen to is The Unforgettable Fire (meaning the album but including the song). Highlighting:

I can't stay out of this thread. This song I just heard for the first time over the weekend while I was with the Salesians. This was one of the songs that was sung while we were at the Visitation. It was the only song that stayed in my head the most. It's perfect for Lent and for Vocations. I cried for most of the song.
