Looking at acquiring a Springfield XD within the next couple weeks though :) XD is a good choice. I've shot one in the .40. I like it because it is mostly polymer and still has a manual safety. But it is not good idea to open carry b/c NC law is that if someone feels threatened by the gun on my hip I am the one at fault. Messed up.
