Canada is moving full force with Covid 'passports' and essentially creating a second class of citizens who do not agree with the narrative.

Long live freedom.

LONG LIVE DEMOCRACY!

Well, if you believe in democracy, note that about 60% of the US population approves of vaccine mandates. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2021-09-14/three-in-five-americans-support-bidens-new-vaccine-mandates-poll-says

I DONT believe in democracy...

I am being sarcastic...

Maybe I should add a general disclaimer on my posts???

Democracies nearly always end up being ruled by tyrants. Who the people, at first, often support by voting away their freedoms.

I could probably pull a poll showing wide support of the Patriot Act before it became law. And all it would show is that 60% of Americans were brain dead cows.

Per the Milgram Experiment, under the influence of an authorized leader 65% of people would repeatedly shock someone else with 450 volts.

Democracy is wack. You think majority rule is a good idea?

As opposed to what? Minority rule? A dictatorship?

You are not entitled to lay hands on me because you take a vote on it.

Accept that you don't own other people, even if it's really popular to behave otherwise.

Learn to keep your hands to yourself.

True, but we can all take a vote to set the tax rate, and take a portion of your hard-earned money accordingly, just as the Church teaches.

Oh I see.

Poor Winchester is being treated as slave because he has to live in a world with other people and is not allowed to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

As opposed to all of the other forms of government that do not end up being ruled by tyrants?

The problem with all of these silly "I hate democracy" arguments is that they offer no better alternative. If not democracy then what? A dictatorship? Anarchy?

I want you to get vaccinated to protect everyone.

Lie of the century, which will lead to millions (possibly billions) of people being persecuted (tens to hundreds of thousands already are).  Vaccination against the Wuhan virus protects no one, and hurts many, many people.

The more time passes, the more we're finding out that natural immunity, which >80% of people have now, is more and more effective against all forms of the Wuhan virus.

A Republic is a much better alternative, even in the crazy world of today.  The problem is that the Republic has been gone for decades, perhaps more than a century.  Countries that currently say they are democracies are really oligarchies, but nobody seems to care.  Democracy hasn't been a real thing for a very, very long time, except within local communities.  Any other sense of democracy is a farce.

The best form of government is a benevolent monarchy, but that's not possible in the world today where the devil has as much power and control as he does.

How are you defining the terms "Republic" and "Democracy"? A Republic as the term is used today is a form of democracy:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy#Republic

Now, as for your claim that most "democratic" countries today are functional oligarchies - that idea has some merit I think when you look at the way that wealth and power is distributed among the members of society. That is an issue to be addressed I think.

Well that all depends on who the monarch is. If the monarch is our Lord Jesus I would readily agree with you.

But from our Lord there is a very steep drop-off in the quality of leadership.

First, we are going to have to find a benevolent human being on the planet Earth. That by itself is an exceedingly difficult task.

In theory I might agree with you but we are dealing with flawed, evil, human beings. We want to spread power among them because as the saying goes, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

A benevolant monarchy is in many ways superior to ANY democracy.

The trick is to keep it benevolant.

Yet, even a malevolant monarchy, in my opinion, is better than a democracy.  At the very least better than the 'democracy' we have today.

What in the world makes you think democracy has a better chance of electing good people?

"A camel will go through the hole of a needle before a great man is discovered by democracy."...

Who said that i wonder?

I don't think it has a better chance of electing good people.

Lets say you have 10 people, each of whom are completely selfish jerks who care only about themselves.

Lets also say that the only food that exists for the year is 100 pounds of rice.

In the monarchy one person will have full power. The monarch is going to keep the 100 pounds of rice all for himself, the other 9 people are going to starve, unless the monarch decides to keep them around as functional slaves.

In the democracy the power is split evenly among the 10. They will have to take a vote to decide how the food will be allocated, and a majority vote wins. Here, even in your worst case scenario, 6 of the 10 people will form a coalition to split the food among themselves, while the remaining 4 people in the minority will starve.  In the best case scenario the 10 people vote unanimously to split the 100 pounds of rice among them, so they each get 10 pounds and nobody starves.

So the democratic system provides a much better result because the power is shared among many people.

This seems like a ridiculous statement. The "malevolant monarchs" are people like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, the guys from North Korea.

No quite...

Malevolant Monarchs are like Henry VIII... Louis XV...

Those you mentionned are deranged outright.

A malevolant monarch will serve his or her self interest but will not seek to cause harm outright to the people in general.  In self servitude the malevolant monarch would see his or her kingdom as owning something or value and will seek to grow their property and take care of said property, but would not seek harm to their own property.

Stalin was fighting ideologies and willing to kill millions to enforce it.  That's just stupidity and madness or a mix of both.  A 'competent' yet malevolant monarch would not act as such - Machievelli would not approve.
