Fiat_Voluntas_Tua
As some of you know, am a convert to the faith...I was attracted to the Church for one main reason...and it did not come through a program, but through the same Feast that the Appostle's shared with Christ on the night he was betrayed. Now I am not saying life teen isn't good, I am just saying lifeteen should be used like a magnifying glass. It shouldn't obscure anything, but only magnify the Mass and the Sacrament's so that they can be better understood and loved, and desired by the youth. If teens knew what the Sacraments were really about there would be no need for life teen. LifeTeen should try to point kids into a universal call for holiness; not an individual group of teens trying to be holy. I have only been to like 2 lifeteen Masses, and I can say there were several Liturgical abuses...but now they are changed. So as long as Lifeteen is a program that is the mean's and not the end to a relationship with the Church and Christ it is ok...It should be something that keeps teens on track striving for something greater instead of being the end to a relationship. It should get teens to love the Mass because of its' Nature, and not because of its' music. Because we all know that the music played at Mass will not fill us with eternal life. Lifeteen should emphasize (sp?) the Source and Summit of Christian Life, instead of faithfilled entertainment. Pray for Lifeteend and all Pastors at Lifeteen Parishes. God will work through this program. Totus Tuus, Andy

Guest rate128
Re-read my post. You will see the following statement:
Yes, I saw that in your post. But I also pointed out: " You can call us exceptions if you want, I guess. But the chances that teens stay with the Chruch are much higher after they go though the Life Teen Confirmation prep than those who go through the other version, which is the Sunday morning classes. My parrish offers this, I don't know if any others do. " (sorry I don't know how to quote twice in one post) exceptions may not make the rule, and yeah, there are exceptions with every rule... but too many exceptions and you can't have a rule in the first place. The more I think about this the more I realize that the effects of the program are a result of the people in charge. If you have CORE who have dedicated their lives to Christ, and live the christian life outside of Sunday, the program becomes much more efficient. Every parrish is different. Every teen is different. Every youth minister is different. As for Sacraments -- I know my parrish does a very good job with those. I can't speak for others, but as far as I know the Life Night packets that are sent out from Mesa do cover them. It's up to the youth minister and CORE to emphasize the importance. Theoketos
nobody is tearing anybody down. A criticism of the organization is not an attack on the faith or dedication of its members.
This is hard to remember but must be...
