cmotherofpirl Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004
Im 95% against abortion, except when the mothers life in danger, then it becomes a neccessary evil. Ive heard of other circumstances where abortion is ethical, but havent really studied much into it.
You have heard wrong. THere is NEVER a legitimate reason to murder another human being.

cmotherofpirl Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 B.S. Its not a "personal" opinion. No doctor has any right to say its ok to murder a child. No one has that right. Ever. Period. Not in your wildest dreams.
Phatmasser777 Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 Its not murder if its to save another life.
cmotherofpirl Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 B.S. again. Murder is the deliberate killing of an innocent. You don't murder one person to save another. You cannot do evil even to have a 'good' result.
If it were me, and my life was in danger and the doctor took the life of my baby to save mine without speaking to me or my husband. . .You better belive that I would press charges against that doctor for the murder of my child. I would always trade my life for my child. My stance on abortion: Nobody, and I mean nobody, as the right to decide if and when an unborn child should die. Not the mother, not a doctor. . . Only God. Phatmasser777 Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 What if you kill to save an innocent? Its not murder if its so save the mothers life.

But if you end a life on purpose in order to do anything except defend yourself, you are a murderer. The way it works is: You can't terminate the pregnancy to save the mother. However, you can perform a different operation that might result in the death of the child. It may be a 99% chance the child will die, but if you aren't doing it on purpose then you are committing no wrong.

Brother Adam Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 Consider this illustration, Let's say you bring home a new baby boy from the hospital and that night there is a fire. Even if there is a good possibility you will die to save your child do you risk running into the fire to save your son? It's no different with a new born. You believe that 95% of the time it would be murder. That other 5% of the time it is still murder. You are opting to save your own life or the mothers over the life of your son or daughter. Any parent worth anything would give their own life for their child.
Actually, murder is the intentional killing of an innocent person/child/baby. If the baby is in the fallopian tubes, which is the only time the mother's health should be in danger (that I know of), there is one procedure, a salpingectomy is appropriate, though sad, but it doesn't actually kill the baby. It's a way that, if it were possible, the baby would be saved.
