I'm married.
I took a vow of celibacy until 2006.

That is all.

Well. Without getting into too much details, this is a personal exercise of will-power combined with a phsycological strategy that I hope pays off in 2006.

She's known this whole year but dismissed it as foolishness. She didn't take me seriously until yesterday.

I feel powerful.

Are you talking completely celibate?

To be honest, I think that might actually be against the Sacrament of Marriage...you're supposed to have sex...

The Sacrament of Marriage is about reflecting the nature of God's self-gift, most particularly (i.e. marriage is the only institution which allows for it) through sex. A marriage cannot be valid, for instance, if it is not consummated. For that reason, within marriage, sex is something to be had frequently for the sanctification of the couple and the glorification of God. In other walks of life, sexual intercourse may be something given up, but that is something meant for those positions and states in life, not for marriage, with exception of penitential abstinance from sex, which in my humble opinion, should not last nearly as long as a year, since for a married couple, sex can be a prayer, and while we fast, we are never called to fast from prayer.

Just my two cents.

Of course, I won't be married until 2006 at least...
