Guest JeffCR07 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I have heard news from a friend at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary that the Holy Father has passed away. He died at 10:45 AM eastern time. Ask him to pray for us, as I am certain he is in heaven.
Fidei Defensor Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Wow. I shall wait for the Vatican confirmation though, but I trust your word.
Guest JeffCR07 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 of course, I know it hasn't yet hit the news, and even then, we should not say it is "official" until the Vatican has said so, but I thought it wise to give people some notice ahead of time
CatholicAndFanatical Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 how would they possibly know that?? ugh, that makes me sick to my stomach. Papa suffered much just like the Blessed Mother said. May he pray for us when he is with Jesus
Guest JeffCR07 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005
This isn't funny. How would they know?
I am most certainly not trying to be funny. The men at the seminary were with their bishop when he received the phone call.

Dudette Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 (edited) I'm sure if the Holy Father died, it would be on the news already, but it isn't. Edited April 1, 2005 by Dudette
MagiDragon Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 they might not tell anyone if a mass was in progress for the pope . . . they may wait until the mass is over
Thy Geekdom Come Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I pray in case this is true, but I will not believe it until we have confirmation.
Theoketos Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 The mass is still going on. I am watching it on the Spanish Channel
stargirl3:16 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 They have it on FoxNews right now. I'm watching it with the 8th grade class that I'm teacher aide for. This is so unreal...
megrc Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 According to MSNBC, the Holy Father in unconscious. If you want to keep up to date on the news, the to msn.com and click on Vatican Watch.
ironmonk Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I am shocked that some here do not believe him.

He has proven himself as Church Militant.
Any Catholic with half a brain wouldn't joke about this.
He has no reason to lie.
Bishops and priests will know before the general public.
The news people will need to write the article and have it approved before it is sent out into the public.
As Aesop said... "He who mistrusts most should be trusted least" It's understandable to ask how they would know, but to basically call him a liar is an insult... yes it is April geniuses, but only a fool would joke about this and Jeff is not a fool. God Bless, ironmonk
dUSt Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 If he did pass away at that time it was during the consecration , and I wouldn't be suprised if it was at the exact moment the bread turned into the Body of Christ.

cmotherofpirl Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Jeff is also not at the Vatican. So we will wait for offical confirmation not a rumor.
