Brother Adam Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 The media is very 'doomsday' happy. They want to be the first to announce something, so much so they are all to likely to read into things what are not there or jump the gun. With something of such signifigance, let's wait until the shutters and doors are closed. I can't take it emotionally any other way. Breaking news on FOX NEWS: Vatican reports that the Pope is definitely still with us
RemnantRules Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005
I've heard that Fox news has said that he had passed away, and then a little while later, they changed their minds. I think it's best to wait until we hear from the Vatican.
agree -_-
CatholicAndFanatical Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I just spent my lunch hour watching Fox News. I tried to pray the rosary with the people there, but the interpreter (who obviously wasnt Catholic) couldnt follow along and had terrible interpretations of the prayer. It was too distracting. I'll have to pray one tonight for him. This is an exciting and sad time for our Church. SO many issues have unfolded upon us in the last few years (Celibacy, Homosexual Marriages, Priest scandels..etc). I hope and pray that the next Holy Father will as strong in faith and morals. They had a monsignor on FoxNews who said that they would tell the faithful when the Holy Father dies by ringing the St Peters Bell. Not sure if the rosary is done now, but It wouldnt suprise me if this happened after htey finished the Rosary.
Brother Adam Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 You know what is sooo cool? Thus far Fox News has been completely Theologically correct
CatholicAndFanatical Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 this is true, im glad they have Priests and Monsignors there talking about it instead of someone who only 'thinks' they know what their talking about.
RemnantRules Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 MSNBC has been good too b/c they have a close friend of JP II, a priest, on their show that is really good.
MagiDragon Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 wow, that's so weird! the media being responsible in their reporting!?!? who'd've thunk it?
Brother Adam Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 BREAKING NEWS: Vatican officals say that death will come in the next 24 hours due to blood posioning, his heart is failing, his kidneys are gone.
MagiDragon Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 i hope he makes it 'till sunday! i know *i'd* want to die on divine mercy sunday!
RemnantRules Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 that would be nice but God's time is perfect. I love you holy father
ironmonk Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005
I just spent my lunch hour watching Fox News. RemnantRules Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 absolutely...as St. Gerard said, "Here the will of God is done, as he wills it, and as long as he wants it."
Brother Adam Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I plan on staying here the rest of the night, with everyone else. There are prayer services going on most of the night. I can't imagine getting much homework done. The last class I had to go to lasted a whole 10 minutes when Fr. Don just said "Go ahead and go I can't concentrate either". Then again only about 10 people were in class.
voiciblanche Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005
that would be nice but God's time is perfect.
Amen to that. His Will be done.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Did anything happen about 1:30pm central time today? I'm just curious...
Brother Adam Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 That was about the time they made the false report of his death.
Jaime Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I have no tv in my office and I'm searching the internet for a webcast of St Peter's Square. Has anyone else tried looking for that?
Q the Ninja Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 ABC News has it. I wanna be there! I dunno if I can tonight.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005
That was about the time they made the false report of his death.
thanks... that is actually helpful to me... I'll explain later if I have to...
