the singer of circa survive was in a band called saosin. they are a lot harder than mae.
corban711 Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005
hey nich!
sup man? 11 more days....
melporcristo Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 a friend from class saw them in New York and said they were way awesome BUT didn't play "Mistakes We KNew We Were Making" or "Embers and Envelopes." LAME
keighters Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 yeah they didnt play those when i saw them either... but there last song was Tisbury Lane... not sure if they sung this part though : "Please don't give up when it's easy Don't you know that me and Jesus will cheer you on? He's the only one that will be constantly everything you need" cause you know bands tend to cut Jesus out now that they get popular... i don't know if they did though... i was hanging out with another badn but the end of Mae's set.
melporcristo Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 that would be pretty sad if they are starting not to say Jesus' beautiful name ... ahh ... sometimes I get so sad when bands do that. For many artists, their excuse is that its their ministry. But i often wonder how secular are you gonna get until you are totally in the world.
corban711 Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 tonight is the night!!! yes!!! can't wait to see them play!
InCircles' brother Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 so, last night was pretty much the best night of my life. i got to see my girlfriend after a week of fasting from her (not really, but yeah) and then i got to hang out with some pretty cool cats named: allison and her lame boyfriend nich (just kidding man) and my bro InCirlces (julio). before we went over to nich's pad julio and i made a movie. but before that we played frisbee. and invented a game called point-zero. then we watched some of Kicking and Screaming. then we went to a concert. i killed a black widow (it had the red mark and everything) that was pretty sweet. then i met this guy who plays in a band called Discover America who is a really cool guy and plays really good music and everyone should check them out. then we saw this band from Virginia. they were alright. WHO AM I KIDDING!!! THEY WERE FLIPPIN' AMAEZING (as kate would say)!!!
keighters Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 hahahah!! i bet they were.... ah! i'm so jealous!... well i did see them this summer but still. ahh! so cool.
corban711 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 was the mae show fun? you could say that. was it a good show? no. not even close. was it a great show? no. but not that i am surprised by that either. what? are you crazy??? you just saw mae!!! your favorite band and you are telling me it wasn't a great show???!!! no...to use something scott hahn says.... no Campbells soup...campbells soup is good. great??? no frosted flakes...they're great. (he doesn't say this next part though.. )mae was incredible! wow! that's about all i can say. or like the little kid in the incredibles..."that was totally wicked!" hehe. they played a bunch of songs off of both albums...a really good mixture of the two. while i was there, i managed to get a sweet shirt and the mae dvd too. david, julio, michelle, and of course my sweetheart allison...thank you all so much for making it such an awesome night. i really have the best friends in the world watching the dvd i learned that embers and envelopes was pretty much the first song they ever sat down and really wrote together. since they have played that song at just about every show over the last four years or so, i can see why they might not play it at all their shows now. i would get sick of playing it too i think if i had to play it about 300 times a year for 3 or 4 years straight.
corban711 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 i was really surprised that they played the sun and the moon and the oceans....but i know that the ocean is one of their favorite songs. i think it's the bass players favorite. so maybe that's why.
