Socrates Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005
All posts will be with people's real names for legitimacy reasons. You may choose to keep your identity seperate from your phorum identity if you want. That's your call. I won't have the resources to screen or proof every post, so it's important that anyone who is allowed to write have the ability to check themselves for accuracy and orthodoxy. Those who don't live up to the standards will simply be executed.
Would I be allowed to write? (you can pm or email me if you'd rather not respond on the public forum.)
Sojourner Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Oh, one other question ... can we include interesting news-type stories from our own dioceses? Such as, last night I went to a talk by Fr. Jonathan Meyer about how to talk to your kids about sex based on Theology of the Body. Could I write about that?

Laudate_Dominum Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 It seems you may have enough committed regulars, but if you could use a more sporadic writer I'd be happy to oblige.
popestpiusx Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 As would I. I have just the article in mind (one already published elsewhere).
p-hawk Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005
can phishys apply?
can they be trusted to fully and accurately present the fullness of Catholic teaching and not stray from it? That is one of the conditions dUST put forth.
BigRedJ07 Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 hmmm... a Catholic advice column would be pretty sweet... i'd do that

Awesome... where is it published may I ask?
jiyoung Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I'd like to volunteer. My writing style is more reflective, though...and I don't know whether you'd want anything like that. However, as an alternative I'd be happy to proofread entries for grammar and punctuation before being posted. Apparently that's one of my strengths... (my AP gov't teacher had me edit his master's thesis for him) Just let me know, and I can give my email to the contributors so they could send their entries to me if they wish.
Lil Red Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005
No disrespect intended, but is this really one of the more relevant and pressing issues to discuss in a Catholic forum, or is this some kind of in-joke?
thank you i totally agree
argent_paladin Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I'd love to take part. I was editor-in-chief of our theological journal at seminary and have published articles in some magazines. I will be located in Washington, DC and will be closely involved with the National Conference of Bishops, the Cato Institute, the National Bioethics Institute, CUA, DHS and other places in DC. I'd love to do some sort of political/public policy column, but it would also involve some other things. I especially enjoy writing on the topic of church/state relations. I can commit to a minimum of one 500 word column once a week.

We could meet up somewhere for a beer or two. End Hijack. Please return to the regularly scheduled thread topic.
