hehe, this is true. I'm pretty sure some other phatmassers were banned for "being immature". I wonder if they are still banned or if they can go back...

My turn to rant!!!

Well, as many of you know I live in Shreveport, LA, which was highly affected by Hurricane Rita.

Well, yesterday morning I woke up to get ready to see if I was goin to have to go to work. Well, I went into the living room and dad was watching the news. The wind was already getting really bad. Sustained at 30 mph, which would be strong enough to blow my little truck right off the road. The rain was coming down like crazy.

So I called my manager and told her about what I had heard on the News. The local govt and police had told everyone in the Shreveport Bossier area to stay at home until the storm had passed. She told me that she was going to call our District Manager and see what he says we should do.

She called back about 15 mins later saying that our DM said that we had to open the store because the storm isn't here yet. Bull....... hard rain, almost unable to see about 5ft in front of your face, and wind sustained at 30 mph already, and he says the storm isn't here yet. So I started getting dressed for work. My manager calls me back and tells me to stay at home because it's too dangerous for me to drive to work. She was trying to get to the store while on the phone with me and she kept getting blown off the road.

About half an hour later we lost power, limbs were breaking off and sticking into the ground like spikes, and then the roof started leaknig.

So yeah, my DM wanted me to endanger myself to go into work yesterday in that kind of weather. As my dad said "if he has a problem with you missing work he can talk to me" lol Don't ya just love dad :)

Okay venting over.

I've seen worse... I've seen a little 7 year old boy on the computer downstairs in the kid's level of the library printing out "whips and chains" kinda of stuff, with, I am guessing, his father sitting there letting him do this. The librarian walks by and the kid turns the monitor off. She stopped and then scolded them BOTH saying that there will be no more "whips and chains" or anymore of that stuff here.

That was pretty sickening.

These guys are addicts. They're junkies who need their fix. They have a need and the only way they know how to fulfill it is through looking at porn.

I don't like heartbreak. Especially when I can feel it coming from a mile away. Then again, I also dont like giving up hope on just a hunch.

[quote name='p-hawk' date='Sep 24 2005, 10:53 PM']That is SO inefficient.

1. Peanut butter one slice of bread with knife.
2. Wipe knife clean on other slice of bread.
3. Slide jam out of container with the same knife.
4. Spread jam on second slice with that one-and-only-knife.

This method is not only a time-saver during the sandwich-making (you're spreading twice instead of four times) but also in terms of clean-up (one utensil vs. two).

And yes, I am a :nerd:

it's not about efficiency... it's about making the perfect, acceptable PB&J sandwich. the problem we face in society is that people have gotten lazy in their sandwich making skills, so look at where we are now. we are in a state of moral sandwich decline, where the notion of a good, well-made PB&J sandwich is deemed unimportant.

I described the most efficient way to make a good PB&J sandwich. I have had my cake and eaten it as well. So, :P:

Another plus of dspen2005's method of making PB&J is that when peanut butter is on both slices of bread the jelly doesn't make the bread all soggy if you make the sandwich in the morning for lunch.

I must admit I do make them the other way, but I also much admit I am lazy in my sandwich making....

Efficiency is not laziness.

I can see how if you had wimpy bread that would get soaked by the jelly you might want to do that. (I myself don't suffer wimpy bread.) But that's no reason to use a spoon. After you are done buttering the slices you can use the same knife for the jelly.

I actually find a spoon to work much better for the jelly, with a knife it just slides right off. Plus, with the spoon it is easier to smush the glops of jelly smooth.

Once again, I usually use a knife. But the spoon does work better.

oh look at this.... i've got support on my side.... is there anyone out there who supports p-hawk???

I understand that a spoon is a better tool for this job. I use a spoon when I jam up my toast in the morning. However, when I'm making a PB&J sandwich I use the same knife, because I'm as adept with it as I am with a spoon, and because that's one less dish to handwash (no dishwasher here).

I  you. I hope that counts :)

My ear lobe is bleeding and it hurts and now there's blood everywhere :(

Posted

yeah, well its not really my lobe-its like the upper part of my ear thats bleeding. I just called it my lobe because i didn't know the name for it. You know where your ear curves round and there's like a groove? Its there.

Posted

That's the outer ear.

Mine bleeds all the time in the same place.
