the democrat's policies are far from in line with Catholic Social Justice! they fall short on one of the major principles of Catholic Social Justice- subsidarity. while republicans fall short on that too, the conservative ideal is still about smaller government and less dependency on government.

and more and more the democrat's economic policies lean towards socialism, an evil that plagues the good of private property.

anyway, you're right that you're not going to find a home with either, but it's not that cut and dry. democrats are very very wrong on many major issues of social justice, not just on moral issues like abortion, euthenasia, and gay marriage.

San Diego is the US's seventh largest city (1.3 million in city limits and 2.8 million in the area) and it is mostly conservative. (It went for Bush in the last election).

Average new detached home price is $797,000, and average for all types of homes is $493,000.
My parents got in in the 80's; I don't think I will be going back to buy a house there.
