Cow of Shame Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 ..and self-medicating isn't always the best idea
theculturewarrior Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 May the all powerful Lord grant you blessed rest, and may the Angels and Saints guard you, sleeping and waking.
photosynthesis Posted October 12, 2005 Author Posted October 12, 2005
sure, but at what point do you think that you might need one...would you even know it? it can be hard to take a step back & objectively analyze ourselves when we come down with a case of the crazies.... It helps if you've got a friend that can smack you upside the head & tell you, "You've gone nutters! Take your loonie pills, you wacko!" It helps even more if other people can see this friend.... heh
psych evals lead to being locked up. i already get nightmares from the last time i got locked up, which was almost 10 years ago. but I think I might start taking my loonie pills again

I think it might be best to at least talk to a doctor about this all. I really don't think they'd lock you up again unless they saw it as necessary... but if it gave you nightmares, I don't think they would be inclined to torture you again. Please, ask a doctor for advice though.
Lil Red Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Our Lady of Perpetual Help, wrap photo in your mantle and hold her safely in your arms for rest.
photosynthesis Posted October 12, 2005 Author Posted October 12, 2005
I think it would be good to make an appointment at least to see a doctor. I know it doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, but that is why we have doctors, so that they can help us! Please at least speak to a doctor or something about it. It in not healthy at all for you to continue on without sleep!
I talked to my RA last night to see if she had any benadryl or something like that (the RA in every house usually has a huge stash of OTC drugs) but she ran out. so I waited till the morning to go to the college health center. The doctor there gave me a prescription for some drug named Sonata...so now all I have to do is walk to the pharmacy and get it filled.. i hope it works because i am so tired.......

oh, they would! I'd just be fresh meat to them. either that or Maryland hospitals are less evil than central NJ hospitals. maybe in maryland they have a little more southern hospitality and charm... who knows, they might serve fried chicken and she-crab soup and sweet potato pie.... ok now i am starting to talk like a crazy sleep deprived person... time to get the prescription filled!
theculturewarrior Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 The Angels and Saints are singing you lullabies right now. They will guard you, and they will lead the way before you. I think you need to talk to a doctor! It is easier when you refer yourself, and it may not necessarily lead to a hospitalization. If you don't get help, it might make matters worse, though. Would you rather choose your doctor, or have one chosen for you? Would you rather choose your hospital, or have one chosen for you? These are things you may have to decide soon. I am praying for you!

thank you for your prayers!! those are things i was thinking about, which is why I went to the health center. I told them I was "having trouble sleeping" but not that it had been 4 days and I didn't tell them why, either. I didn't want them to think I was crazy. so they gave me a prescription... one of my friends told me she'd take me to the pharmacy after 8pm bible study. i am starting to not like the idea of getting the pills because then they will make me sleep and then they will give me nightmares.

philothea Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 What medicine did they prescribe? (I'm not a fan of prescription meds...)

I just went to the pharmacy and got some. it's very new and it's supposed to be fast-acting and doesn't stay in the body too long. not sure if it's gonna work though
