Anastasia13 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I know that it's important to go and I should probably think of it more that way, but against the advice of two respected people here, I think I want to get other stuff done. All semester I have felt like when homework is due I'm just barely getting it done and I won't know until 3 p.m. how much I need to worry about getting however much of probably about 6 and a half hours of homework done that needs to be done when I get home again. If I can get more done earlier this weekend, then I won't feel as much like I am just getting by and it will be easier to get more done earlier and I'll have less excuse if I don't get it done. The nature of that reasoning then should make it less valid next weekend and I won't feel as anxious about getting my work done. Thoughts? Reactions? Scoldings?
Jaime Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 If posting on Phatmass is taking you away from doing homework And not doing homework is taking you away from Mass Maybe you shouldn't post on Phatmass on the weekends

Laudate_Dominum Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I still say home church is cool. (for protestants not Catholics) That's what I would do if I was non-Catholic and I didn't want to go to a Sunday service.

Are you still going to Calvary Chapel, when you go? Oh well.....free will......everyone has it.

Sometimes I get lucky
That was mostly Friday if I recall, or it was more relavent stuff. Or it was last night and I don't usually feel like myself after I get a headache that doesn't all go away with two excedrine. Or I was hoping I would be able to fall asleep again. Cold feet don't help me sleep and like I said, I have a lot of thoughts and stuff running in my head. (I'm actually resurrecting my long abandoned modblog.) I also post as a way of responding (however well or poorly) to stress or when I am working something out in my head. (That can actually include school work, or the need for stronger faith and how that affects my life, or just whatever comes up in life, which can be tricky as I might become overly serious about something so that I either hyperfocus or spam.) And I do get decent grades, though even with my great (and third) accounting prof. I am a little stressed in doing well in that class. Church does rock, but it's officially too late to go today unless I have dinner plans suddenly changed on my account which already happens with work during the week in the evenings. Then I went to a Christian and Missionary Alliance church a couple times with my brother. (Hey, it got him attending something local instead of only an hour and a half away.) Then I went with my dad to Calvary Chapel, then I didn't go because I was getting a headache and had to work on Sunday. Right reason would say that you should go to church, because your conscience was telling you something......and did you do that? I don't think so, otherwise we would not have had the conversation that we did.

Some areas it's a tad um... marginalized. I think that is part of why I tend to spend more time on a Catholic site like this than on other sites. And then sometimes it's hard to sort out when I feel like I should do something but not with the same balance that is good for at least my mental health. I also don't want to feel drained running around with other stuff looming over me for the day.
Laudate_Dominum Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 But what's wrong with protestants doing home church? I'd invite a friend or two over, gather in His name, read a little something from the Bible, sing a hymn or two and maybe even break some bread.
