Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Yeah, I'd take either red or white martyrdom... Whatever it is that God wills of me... I believe there will be a lot of white martyrdom in the future...
Aloysius Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I was just thinking something along these lines-- a saint who had a blog and/or frequented a forum would be really weird. I mean, I suppose the cause for sainthood would investigate the person's writings on the forum or blog... and since many people use this as like, a chatroom of sorts (to an extent), that'd be really crazy. for example, if I were someday by the grace of God to become a saint, we'd have in the writings of St. Aloysius of PhatMass a section entitled "Bottles of Beer on the Wall" Which also gets me to thinking... this phatmass database, how long will it be up in entirety? Ten years was the last contract for the site if I'm not mistaken... are all these posts of ours destined to posterity somehow? It's all a little concrete and long lasting for the silly things we sometimes use it for. hmm... never has there been such a predicament, never has there been a mode of mere regular communication that is so permantent it would be an interesting dillemma, what to do with a potential saints' posts on a forum or writings on a blog...

Maybe I should copy everything from my blogs and put it in my journal : just in case... lol That would be interesting though... I like your point about the bottle of beer on the wall... :

May we be blessed with many Saints and Holy People in our generation! (And Micah, I'm not giving my last name out unless I have to, but for informational purposes, it starts with the letter H.) franciscanheart Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ive considered documenting those things ive put on the internet that i feel may one day be needed/wanted by myself or another (like my children or grandchildren). i fear not having much around after i die and i want the things i feel are important to last for generations, so that others may learn from my experiences. maybe thats a bit errogant of me but it's true.

Same here, I write my prayers down the nights I feel more holier and pray. Sometimes I feel the Heavens reaching over me to tell me what to write; Seriously.. so I write it down, like sometimes I just talk to God, not really praying but talking, and asking questions and stuff, and telling him how I feel. I need to put all my writings in one journal though, really I do. I love this thread, and I do believe it is hard to be a saint these days, there are many many temptations out there, but I believe if you walk with Jesus, and if you have him on your mind all the time, then there will be less and less temptations out there.

I am sure there is quite a bit I wouldn't record, but there is some profound-ness I have found in some of the things I have posted, but not very often.

scardella Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 They'd be just like us, except holier (unless you're talking about <insert phatmasser other than me here>).

Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Red martyrdom is where you give your life and shed your blood for Christ (hense the red). White martyrdom is where you give your life without bloodshed, but still with much difficulty and adversity to give your life to Christ. An example of a white martyr is Bl. Kateri.

I want to be a Saint... and I ask God every day to give me a heart of a martyr... but right now I'm struggling with a lot of things.
missionseeker Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 (edited) I like the saint that God asked would he like the white crown (purity) or the Red one (martyrdom) and he replied Can I have both? I'd love to die for God. What better way to die? Edited November 8, 2005 by missionseeker

missionseeker Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I don't think I could be a nun. (but, hey, God laughs) However, I can definitely see myself on mission field somewhere that if you're Christian you die.

Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Glad you like it Laura! Anyone have anyother thoughts they feel like contributing? I've been wondering what the reactions would be to a mystic or stigmatist would be... I know there would be a lot of speculation about it...
