Glad you like it Laura! ^_^  Anyone have anyother thoughts they feel like contributing?

I've been wondering what the reactions would be to a mystic or stigmatist would be...  I know there would be a lot of speculation about it...

I like that thought. Often times we may forget how our actions affect others.

I see parents who bear large families and raise their kids in the faith and I think they are saints. I saw a family on EWTN a while back and the oldest girl was discussing her vocation to be a nun and I thought, man, there are saints in that family.

I think there may also be saints out there who are quiet, devout souls that offer their sufferings up silently and nobody knows about because they don't say a word. God bless them.

they're nice thoughts. definitely something everyone should think of constantly. i guess ive never consistently put my actions in terms of... how am i helping this person become a saint? im kinda selfish a lot of times.

if we're called to become saints ourselves, then shouldn't we help others to become saints? especially those who are nearest and dearest to us?

for me, that's the hardest. it's easier for me to help a total stranger become a saint than my own family.

I think that the layity to be saints would have to find great friendship in the Little Flower. When you deny yourself the oppurtunity to do the big things, the little things are (thank God) all you got!

You think if that were my last name that Jen would be serious?

By the way, Brian, I know more names than you think I do.

I think he is talking about living humbly and doing everything with joy, especially the small and mundane tasks of our lives. It is living a humble and hidden life apart from the 'big' bright and alluring opportunities the world presents us. We choose the little things of heaven, step by step.

Fr. Damien was cool It'd be neat to have the chance to something like that.

i understood that part. what i didnt understand is the reference to that being meant for lay people. why is it meant only for lay people? i guess i felt like he was saying that lay people limit themselves by being a lay person. im just a little confused....

I think it may be because I had started asking about lay Saints rather than religious or priests. I'm not sure what he meant though by the way you are interpreting what was said, hopefully he'll return and let us know ;)

I also have a little book called An Easy Way to Become a Saint by Fr. Paul O'Sullivan. I haven't read it yet, but it is a very short little book. Has anyone read it or heard of it?
