franciscanheart Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005
I think it may be because I had started asking about lay Saints rather than religious or priests. I'm not sure what he meant though by the way you are interpreting what was said, hopefully he'll return and let us know I also have a little book called An Easy Way to Become a Saint by Fr. Paul O'Sullivan. I haven't read it yet, but it is a very short little book. Has anyone read it or heard of it?
When I get to it (which may take awhile at the rate I am reading at now) I will definatly talk about it... in fact, I will return to this thread, no matter how many pages it is buried in. : Here's the table of contents anyways: 1. Two Kinds of Saints 2. How to Love God 3. THe Wonderful Things God Has Done For Us 4. God's Greatest Proof of Love 5. The Passion 6. After His Ascension 7. We Must Do Everything for the Love of God 8. The Principal Duties of the Day 9. Reading 10. Meditation Followed with a bit on How to Go to Confession and the 12 Promises of the Sacred Heart
Dust's Sister Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005
I think he is talking about living humbly and doing everything with joy, especially the small and mundane tasks of our lives. It is living a humble and hidden life apart from the 'big' bright and alluring opportunities the world presents us. We choose the little things of heaven, step by step.
that sounds like me, I try to do that all the time, although I am not perfect I get grumpy a lot of times, but I pray for guidance that I can do better. Sometimes I am not happy with where my life stands right now, because I do not know what my future will be, or how I want it to be, but right now I feel like I need to let God decide and let him Guide me into my future, and if I do that, I know everything will be alright because it's not what want, we may think the things we want will make us happy, but in truth, it's in God's Will, and if you leave everything up to him everything will fall into place and eventually you will see why. Sorry for the rambling, it just came out... lol
